There's translation patches for Mother 1 and 3 if you don't mind using an emulator. Earthbound is still a fun game, but the only thing it has going for it is how weird it is.

They're releasing both of them around that time in time for the Black Friday / gift giving season, so I really don't think it's much of a problem. Sure some sales might be affected, but as long as it keeps selling over a period of time it won't really matter in the long run since the people who want both will eventually get both anyway.

I'm having a lot of issues getting wifi friend matches to work, but I'd be down for a tournament, though I probably can't be in the first one until I get these issues figured out.
