Hiding crucial plot details in Nomura interviews is a stupid decision
Yep. Even though I'm a nerd that looks into these things, for the average joe it really just doesn't make sense.

Hiding crucial plot details in Nomura interviews is a stupid decision
To each his own, then. I don't think the reports really made anything more convoluted, but that's just me... it seems like you're leaning more towards the games themselves judging by the end there, and that's a bit more agreeable, at least with regards to DDD.

Hiding crucial plot details in Nomura interviews is a stupid decision
Yeah, and nearly all of Ansem's reports in 1 were technically retconned as well. The series is full of retcons. I do get what you mean, though. I'd argue they still enrich the lore... there's set up, but a lot of it applies to stuff in BBS exclusively.

And I reiterate my point there. They aren't much different from the ones in 1 or 2's, even in terms of plot point revelations.

Hiding crucial plot details in Nomura interviews is a stupid decision
I can see your frustration with the Nomura interviews.... but with the reports? Really? I actually REALLY like that kinda stuff. It's a way to give backstory, but to not tell it outright where it doesn't really fit. Not to mention, none of the reports really have anything crucial to understanding the plot. It's for nerds like me to have some extra lore to work with.

What do you think of Sora's Character?
He was great in 1, both in terms of character development and personality, but after that he's remained pretty static as a character. CoM did good by him, but since he kinda lost that experience I guess that's a bit irrelevant... KH2 was alright from a personality standpoint, but he did seem a little dumb at points, when his character was never dumb previously. So began his transformation into shounen archetype. Coded... I'd say that's a love hate. I love his character interactions with Donald, Goofy, and Riku, but he still has that dumbness from previously. DDD Sora was just bad. He was dumb, naive, and there was too much heart light friendship in his everyday conversation. Hoping they go more towards KH1 Sora, or at least KH2 Sora in KH3, since he's supposed to "mature" or whatever.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep - The Turning Point (Video by Bl00dyBizkitz)
Blindly? Hardly. He has quite a few good points in there, and is an experienced speedrunner, and does point out that KH1 isn't perfect either. His combat analysis is spot on for BBS (though when he says the other side games are the exact same way, I disagree), and he does make a fair few points with the story as well, even if I disagree on some of his ramblings about Sora no longer being special and that the convolusion has weakened the overall story (makes it more interesting to me). And yeah, Terra and Aqua's voice acting can be shaky at times... didn't really notice it with Terra the first time, but noticed it immediately with Aqua. Ven really isn't that bad, tho

I Called It
Well, from the sound of it, DDD was very rushed, so that relapse made sense. We also have to factor in the fact that they've been making portable games, which don't usually have the same level of polish that console games are supposed to. From what it sounds (and looks) like, we'll have a much better level of polish than any game since KH2. I am a bit worried about how the game will handle, but the last trailer did look like they took more from KH2 in the most recent looking build.

Um wheres dat SE conference?
Oh, so it's just the booth from the looks of things. But man, I swear I remember them confirming an actual conference, too.
-
Um wheres dat SE conference?
Wait, didn't they put out the layout for E3 earlier this year, and square had a huge conference room or something like that? Could've sworn they also confirmed a conference for E3 earlier as well.

DLC in KH3
People are saying "no worlds" and everything, which I get, but I have a proposition: what if they use DLC to tell one of the side stories that perhaps couldn't get a full game? We've got so many untold stories, like most of what Riku was doing between CoM and the end of 2 (how he got Way to Dawn and Destiny's Embrace among other things), the full story of Mickey in the realm of darkness, and post CoM. Those are just some examples. The base game would be the full package. This stuff would be extras that would be worth your time and weren't just left out of the base game. I honestly don't see what the issue would be if it was something like that, or even a 2 Final Mix type deal where the entire game is just better.

Something all KH13 members should watch
Yeah, as Cynical said, we've actually got it very good. There's not a lot of hate speech, and we generally don't hate our own franchise as much as, say, the FF community. We love our games while for the most part recognizing their flaws, which I love. You can't say that about most other communities. I guess there's the small subsidaries that hate the side games and have only played 1 and 2, but I don't really consider them apart of the community since they don't really even give those games a chance. Once upon a time, the KH community was full of cringelords, but we've come a long way since the dark days that were 2006. I can think of so many other fanbases that are waaaaay worse in that regard nowadays. So in general, yeah, we've got it very good. I'd actually say we're one of the better ones out there.

Anyone else grown out of Kingdom Hearts?
If we had grown out of KH, I don't think most people would be on this site. From my perspective, it's a definite nope. When I think back to everything I love about the series, everything really does just click into place. While the recent games haven't been amazing, I can't say I was ever really disappointed with them, or that they killed my interest. In fact, some of them kind of renewed my interest. I will say that sometimes I do get a little burnt out when I focus on KH in some way for too long, but I think that really happens to everyone. I don't see myself ever growing out of it per say. There's just way too much that I like from the series.

What do you want to stay the same in this game?
Limits, the base mechanics of KH2, more platforming like back in KH1 (they'd have to really nerf flowmotion, though. I hope they do), keyblade abilities, keyblade leveling, the amazing style of boss fights from 2 final mix, something akin to the puzzle pieces or puppies, and trinities. There's probably more, but that's off the top of my head.

What is your guys opinions on the team working on KH3?
For his storyline analysis, I straight-up disagree. He point out things like "oh, KH1 and KH2 are irrelevant," and, "there are plot holes that don't make sense." The first part is completely untrue, though they may be unimportant in context of KH3 (but why does that even matter exactly?). The second part, while true, doesn't really affect my enjoyment of the story. In fact, if we can fill those plot holes ourselves, then why does it even matter? I just feel like nothing in that really makes any sense. As far as his gameplay part goes, I agree to a certain extent. I don't think it's right to place all the blame on Osaka when some of the faults were pretty clearly due to the fact that they were handheld games, and they probably weren't told to put as much effort into them. Also, wasn't DDD rushed? That could make things difficult for them. You can't blame them for some sub par direction, either. The only thing that I agree in it's entirety is that the bosses were broken. One other thing: he didn't bother mentioning the combos in the latest KH3 trailer. They're faster paced, more KH2 style. If anything, I'd say that's a sign Osaka will be fine. My only worries gameplay-wise are for the secret bosses, and accidentally rolling into flowmotion when you don't want to.

Does it really matter if the game ages well or not?
When people say a game has aged well, it isn't always just about graphics. Controls are also a factor. Even in KH, the original game is now really clunky because of the way the camera is, and the lack of the "reaction command" per say when opening chests and using things like strike raid. So, when people say a game has aged well, it's often about how things control or are presented to you. Graphics are a factor as well, but the other two are vastly more important.

KHUx Update Predictions
Pretty sure Nomura's release statement a few days ago mentioned 2016 for 2.8 in general. It may not be a total confirmation, but it does have a window.

Why the Hate for Re:coded?
Yeah... the more people point out the flaws, the more I notice them. It's made me like the game significantly less. It's still fun and all, but it suffers in some ways, like the floaty combos and the split into 3 stories.
-
Why the Hate for Re:coded?
I think a lot of people have just never played it, and kind of just bandwagon hate it. Honestly, the story isn't even that bad. It doesn't progress very much in the grand scheme of things, but the characters are great, and we finally got Sora, Donald, and Goofy back together, albeit very briefly. It's my second favorite of the handheld games after DDD.

Do you prefer Anime Dubbed or Subbed and why?
Dubbed when I can, subbed when I can't. The quality differences are so exaggerated nowadays it's ridiculous. There may be a voice or two that isn't up to par, but when the overall cast is great you can't let one ruin it for you. Also, I just really don't like japanese voices all that much. I can tolerate them most of the time, but some are either way too exaggerated or high pitched for my taste. The exception being when you get great engrish like in JoJo.
