    Yes! It was awesome! All the hat tips to the rest of the movies were beautiful. Gandalf asking Thorin not to break his burglar was everything I'd hoped. Plus I thought the foil swap at the end with Thorin/Arkenstone Bilbo/Ring was very well done. I'm sad it's over, though. Now what am I going to look forward to each December?

    The scene with the White Council in Dol Guldur just made me so happy the whole way through. Especially with Galadriel: that got a round of applause from me.

    They left too many open ends not to. Like Thranduil's necklace that they made a big deal of and then never mentioned again.

    They also need to follow up on the meet-and-greet with Sauruman and Sauron.

    Thranduils necklace was there to show what the Elve's motivation was, and the meet and greet I thought was intentionally left open to give impllication to Saruman's corruption by Sauron. Both could perhaps be scenes but I don't know if they'd be the reason for an extended cut.

    In the book that necklaces only mention was when Bilbo gave it to Thranduil at the end, so (to me) it felt like they were planning on going somewhere with it, and maybe tying it in with all the random Legolas's mommy hints they dropped, but who knows. Either way, it did it's motivator job. They've done extended stuff with every other movie in the series, so it'd be strange if they decided not to with this one. Anything to wring some more money out of the project, right?

    @Dave It would be awesome to get more hints or background on Sauruman's corruption. All I remember from the books is that he pretty much came to middle earth because he was the leading expert on the baddies, and that his curiosity became his downfall, so it'd be fun to see some of that development on the screen.

    its completely obvious that the Fate/staynight: unlimited bladeworks anime is the best anime to come out of japan this year. it exceeded all expectaions. and i was expecting alot. especally cuz the show had a budget big enougth to buy belguim

    I prefer the 3ds controller slightly over the gamecube controller for smash brothers for 3ds/wii u. I haven't used a gamecube controller in a long time, so this could change.

    I actually said that as a joke, there was no need for a rude reply like that. I've never seen him call it a masterpiece, either. We've talked about a lot of anime, and he rarely brings that one up. Unless you've personally talked to him about all of the anime he likes and which he considers a masterpiece, you have no place saying anything like that.
