hey kyouma-blade, do you think fire emblem should be played with no resets? as in, once a unit dies, you are not allowed to reset the game to try the stage/map again. do u think thats how a fire emblem game should be played? just wondering.
Kyouma-Blade repliedIf I remember correctly, the creators of the games said they also reset if a unit dies, and agrees that's how it should be played. I also agree that's how it should be played. However, I sometimes do what you said if I wanted a challenge.
Kyouma-Blade repliedThe point is to not make stupid decisions. It's a strategy game, so it emulates what happens if you actually firetruck up in the real battlefield. If you make a risky move, you shouldn't have really done it in the first place.
Sorual repliedyeah. i agree with that. but i just thought the effect would be more prominant if you didnt have the mindset of "if a character dies ill just reset and try the stage again". sure its more of a consiquence that casual mode where you say "whatever they will come back" but i just thought the idea of no resets would encourage you more to not make stupid tactical decitions because you only get one chance. thats just been wandering my mind recently.
Kyouma-Blade repliedWell, it is a game. I think it's punishment enough if you have to start the chapter all over again. Though, some agree what you think and do an Iron Man run, where they live with thier mistakes and keep going.

is it an abnormal thing to do to complete fire emblem games with all characters alive? (kinda like a lv. 1 run of kh, mega buster run of megaman, or cacthing em all in pokemon is) or is it a regular thing to do?
hatok repliedFirst off, no death runs are rare without resets because FE is basically pure RNG. All it takes is a hit with a 1% hit rate and a 1% crit rate to hit an unlucky fighter and they're out
Second, I highly recommend you let people live during your first playthrough, since you can miss plot details and items by losing squadmates

HOLY CRAP! According to my rankings on 3DS, my most played game in terms of average play time is FE: Awakening! Also, 3rd place for most combined play time! (Just behind Kid Icarus: Uprising and Pokemon Y) Wow!
