  1. What is Cloud gaming? Cloud gaming, (not to be confused with subscription-based gaming), is the use of powerful centralized servers to render the game remotely rather than on the player's physical console and is currently being pushed by video game publishers as the new way to play video games. The technology allows for things like better graphics, higher FPS-rates, better lighting, all with minimal hardware requirements for the client. You could play the most recent, most graphics heavy game at 4K 60fps from your two-year-old iPhone. At least that's the idea. The problem is... It's still way too early for this to be technologically viable. And the recent release of the Kingdom Hearts Cloud versions prove it. Square Enix and Nintendo decided to go against what most professionals have already said about cloud gaming, and published a cloud version the Kingdom Hearts series at nearly full price on a console designed to be used on the go with limited or no internet connection. Which is actually pretty disappointing as a fan of both the Kingdom Hearts series and Square Enix themselves. The Problem I think the best way to describe the problem is to compare it to traditional video streaming. When you watch a movie on Netflix, the movie is already rendered and ready to go on Netflix's servers, and will be downloaded in real time as you watch, with a few seconds of buffer to give you the most seamless experience. What is a buffer? In streaming, buffering means the platform gives itself a small head start. It starts downloading the content a few seconds (or less) before actually playing it. If the buffer runs out while watching, you might experience a short pause, a temporary drop in resolution, or both. I think anyone that actively watched Youtube 10 years ago are all too familiar with this. As ISP's infrastructure gets better, the need for a buffer decreases, but it's still there in some capacity, and is likely to still be there for the foreseeable future. However in cloud gaming, buffering isn't possible in any capacity. Since your console has to record your input, pass it on to the server, render the gameplay, then send it back to you all within a few milliseconds. There is no room for buffering, at all. Even just half a second of buffering means you'd be playing the game with a ping of 500ms. And I think most people would agree that isn't a great experience, especially when it comes to fast-paced games like Kingdom Hearts. Credit: Screenshot taken from HMK's video about the same topic Conclusion If the Cloud game you're playing has servers within a hundred mile radius, and you have a good internet connection with low latency, you might be able to play it somewhat smoothly. But anyone outside of the most central parts in the most populated regions are out of luck. If video game publishers keep pushing this technology too early, they risk taking huge hits to their image from their intended audience. I hope this outrage turns out to be a learning experience for Square Enix and for other publishers witnessing the outrage. Maybe one day in the future, we'll have fast enough connections that most of the world will be able to experience and enjoy cloud gaming as it's intended, without having to live right next to the data center. But we're not quite there yet. View full article

  3. Just as the title says, if someone were to let's say tomorrow leak some new footage from KH3 (ex: footage from something we haven't seen yet or haven't seen much of) would you watch it or would you distance yourself as far as from it as possible? Speaking for myself, I would both not want to watch it and want to watch it at the same time, let me explain; you see I wouldn't want to watch it if let's say it featured a world that hasn't been OFFICIALLY announced yet, as I would like to wait for higher quality video to show up legitimately. However, I would maybe consider watching it if it featured a world that we've already seen (so something like other parts of Olympus, Twilight Town, Tangled etc.) because since those worlds would've already been officially revealed then I wouldn't feel like I just spoiled a reveal for myself (kind of like with some of the recent image "leaks"). Anyways, those are my opinions on it, let me know what you would do personally in the event that actual new footage was leaked.
  4. Lasted youtube video in a while. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  5. Me personally, I have the kind of love that most people in my country don't have. My kind of love is that, 2 people who can understand each other well, be there when needed, care for each other. And of course, love that will bring us together forever until we marry. Unlike many people in my country who play with heart and love and change partner every now and then. I prefer a long lasting relationship until we marry. How about you guys? What do you think about the so-called LOVE?
  6. So, I've been meaning to make this rant for years now and I finally decided to make this. Before I start, I would like to point out that this is all opinion-based. You could agree with me (which I highly doubt you will), you could disagree with me and that's fine (but if you try changing my mind or say I'm wrong then I won't care) or you could find this interesting, who knows? Anyway, this might be long, so if you're not into long rants I suggest you leave now. Let's begin: Essentially, I'm a pretty different individual to this topic here and you'll probably find this surprising so hang tight and get something to bite and/or scratch cause you're probably gonna cringe at my words. These past few years, after spending more time on the internet, I've been surprised by the huge dislikes and hate towards the stories of movies, TV shows, video games, etc. to which I personally enjoy a lot. Of course, there's nothing wrong with hating/disliking something as it is all opinion-based, I was just surprised. And after seeing these, to me, it almost feels like that there are 'rules' or 'laws' in order to make a 'good story'. They almost feel forced towards me that it kind of angers me sometimes. When I go watch a movie, for example, I don't give a crap at ALL about character development, background of characters, plot development and all the rest which I personally find to be stupid. All I care about is if the story is interesting or not, THAT'S IT! I don't care if characters were "one-dimensional", I don't care if the plot wasn't "paced well", I don't care if we didn't learn more about a character, I don't care if a scene seemed unnecessary, I don't care if... you get the idea. To me, constantly hearing these over and over again just feels like these are 'laws' that need to be followed. And like I said, I don't care. There are SO many stories that I enjoyed that I hear a lot of people hate. You want examples? Here you go: Maleficent Home on the Range Iron Man 2 Until Dawn Alice in Wonderland (2010) Fantastic Four (not the 2015 version, but I probably would've liked it, had I seen it) Jingle All the Way Master of Disguise Space Jam Cars and Cars 2 (Really don't understand the hate on these movies. I keep hearing "It's a bad idea" yet I never heard why. Pirates of the Carribean On Strangers' Tides Sword Art Online And that's just a few. You're probably banging your head to the wall right now aren't you? Well this is the big kicker here: I probably would like the movies Dragonball: Evolution and The Last Airbender if I hadn't seen their respective shows beforehand. Well, glad I got that out of the way, I just have one more thing to say which kind of relates to this. You ready? *Drops Mic*
  7. Hi!I was wondering what people think about watching the trailers for the series once they come out.I used to want to have a complete black out of information so i could be completely surprised, however trailers were always an exception if i recall. I kind of think if they are going to show it in an official trailer and its not a leak, they want us to see it anyway and it wont be a spoiler, but looking back at the IGN KH3D trailer towards the end they completely show the ending scenes (sorta) of 3d and though i still recall being surprised by that once i played it, it makes me wonder if i want to see the KH3 trailer incase they have any spoilers there too.Anyway! What's your opinion? I'd love to hear it as this has been floating around in my mind for quite some time now.-Victory
  8. It's time for that "which Kingdom Hearts game is superior thread." In this topic, I'll compare both games by bit by bit to see what game is better in a score chart. (Respect people opinions) Let's start with plot to the gameplay. Shall we start? 1)Plot While both games have great and confusing plots, KH1 wins this round for it's simple yet complicated story. Why? Because there was much more passion and originality put into KH1. We got a story of a boy who was chosen to wield the keyblade to save worlds from utter destruction of the heartless. (and he teams up with famous Disney characters btw) KH2 almost do the same thing, but with nobodies & organisation 13 added in the mix, it's a major cluster**** throughout the story. 1+ goes to KH1. 2)Gummiship While KH1gummiship missions were ok, KH2 gummiship missions were much more better in gameplay. For example, the Gummiship building option. KH1 gummiship creator was hassle for many players. Why waste munny on making a bigger gummie ship when you can use instant transportation? In the second title, the blueprint system works much better and your more likely to make better upgraded gummie ships. Also, the pointlessness of purchasing gummie parts is fixed since the reward system is for improving your ship is put inside the use of the ship. It gives a reason to actually re-travel through the gummi ship level just to complete it for the better reward on higher difficulties. Plus, there's actually bosses (Or just unavoidable enemies?) to fight in the gummi levels. The lanes between travel paths also had more interesting designs in the KH2. As in the first title would have a collage of hoops and a few giant colored blocks. In KH2, you have planets of scenery sometimes, amazing asteroid belts, ghost vortexes, and you can even battle some of the enemies from a side view option from your ship in the second game. 1+ for KH2. 3)Keyblades While KH2 have a ton of keyblades, most were useless and badly made. Looks at rumbling rose KH1 on the other hand, had keyblade that provided some use and look pretty great. I mean, just look at the trace that Diamond Dust leaves. Just beautiful. 1+ for KH1. 4)Coliseum & Journal Coliseum tournaments in the first game were interesting and even fitted a small storyline before the extra tournaments appeared which added structure and depth into the game. You needed to use your lock-on a lot more often than just hacking away and obliterating everything. KH2 tournaments weren't that good or even praised. The tournaments mostly don't allow the use a specific attack or just don't get hit this numbers of time. (Example: You can't use forms or have party members.) It's Recoded datascape challenges all over again. Even worse, they removed the tournaments in the coliseum in favor of the underworld tournaments. btw about the journal, the Syntheses list in KH2 is so easy that its ridiculous. The game presents almost no challenge at all (unlike the first) besides filling out Jiminy's Journal which was so frustrating and time consuming. 1+ for KH1 5)Worlds 1+ for both games. Both had huge worlds that can be accessed fully. (Although you can swim in KH1 and skateboard in KH2........) 6)Gameplay Most people would choose KH2 gameplay. But in reality, KH1 has better gameplay. Why? You can't constantly spam the X and triangle in KH1. You'll need to dodge, block, attack at the right time. It's takes precision and right timing. You can't waste all your MP and expect it to refill. It doesn't happen in KH1. You need to use resources at the critical moment. That's what makes KH1 so challenging and fun. You can't spam or cheat through the game. However with KH2, it's a different story. There's no challenge expect level one walkthroughs. Most enemies can be defeated by spaming X or triangle. (The data battles and Lingering Will are a joke when spammed by Sora attacks.) Or defeated in the cheapest way possible: Forms. While Forms seem cool, they are freaking OP. You are unstoppable when using forms. Nothing can get in your way or get out. Wanna defeated a extremely difficult boss in one minute? Use a form! 100% likely chance that you will not die and make the fight look like child-play. 1+ for KH1 Now, time to check the score: KH1: 5 KH2: 2 Looks like KH1 is better than KH2 in almost ever way. (Expect gummi missions.) (But of course, you can have different opinions. If you think KH2 is better than KH1, then I accept your opinion.) Next time I'll compare BBS and DDD to see which title is better.
  9. Just as the title states, what is a true kh fan to you ? does it involve buying all the games including Japanese ones or knowing what goes on in the story ? edit: im not saying anything about being a true fan but i know people who think they are more of a fan cuz they go out of their way to buy all the games and call themselves "true fans." Also they claim to know more about the game than alot of fans
