i guess they'll add noctis after FFXV's release

Thought I'm noticing a pattern here with the reveals especially with games like World of Final Fantasy and Dissidia:

 

Characters that are designed by Tetsuya Nomura seems to be the first to get picked while others don't receive the same attention in promotions or the order they're picked in

 

That favoritism  bothered me ever since the first Dissidia on PSP and heck even in Kingdom Hearts where all FF characters except Vivi were Nomura-designed characters

I am wondering though, is there even a slight chance in a future Dissidia that World of Final Fantasy characters will make an appearance? Like they originally wanted to do a game like this with KH characters, but Disney turned it down. But with WoFF, those characters already belong to the FF series and are Square characters, so does anybody else think it's a possibility besides me?

Well that's cool. I know the other FF characters will always get the better end of the stick, but I have been playing through World of Final Fantasy, I just got to the end of the time when you first meet Squall, and I have to say that the characters have grown on me, of course the game isn't perfect but no game really is, and so I have just grown into really liking the game, and I would love to see these characters appear in other FF related games that maybe isn't a number title but like a spin-off title.

 

Heck just put them into Kingdom Hearts and we can call it a day!

It's getting a bit irritating that they keep building up hype just to announce a returning character. It'd be like if Smash 4 made a big reveal trailer that was just for Luigi or someone like that. At this point, they really need to show more new characters. Still hoping they'll actually give I-VI attention instead of giving them the short end of the stick as usual.

I am still hoping that Zeromous and Rydia from IV will appear, even though I, sadly heavily doubt it

 

Also VI is the FF with the most playable characters, so we they could use more characters. A playable Mog will be pretty cool(and I can finally take revenge for that Feral Chaos troll in Dissidia), with some characters like Setzer and Celes that can have an interesting playstyle.

I meant adding new characters from the first 6 games. We had Gilgamesh and Kain in Duodecim, but Square tends to ignore the first 6 outside of a couple references yet go all out for the newer games. As someone that likes the old FF games, it's disappointing that they don't really get the treatment they deserve.

 

As for the topic of building hype, I'd say making an announcement of a reveal a week in advance counts. To use Smash as an example again, they'd just reveal returning characters with no prior announcement. It worked well, and I think that format would work for Dissidia as well.

True for the main villain of FFXV. Judging from the pace that they're adding the villains now, it's indeed about 1-2 years until the main villain of FFXV. As for Noctis, I remember it's mentioned somewhere that he won't be added until after the release of the game. So like I said before, it's either next month (for promotional purposes), after all the main villains from FFI to FFXIV are released, or somewhere in-between at best.

Goddamn just release the game to the States already. It's been over a year since Dissidia 2015 was released. I'd rather have the game and update by update be getting the characters rather than watching Kefka and Sephie be released yet the game isn't even out.

The game isn't even in full release quality and no it hasn't, the arcade version came out November 26th 2015. It has barely any characters compared to the first two Dissidia games and no storyline. That's not sufficient enough for a full price game. These trailers are also intended for the Japanese audience, not the West.

While I'm glad that Sephiroth is going to be in the new Dissidia, I'm with everyone and feel that making a big deal about a recurring character is a bit unnecessary.  I'm partly guessing they're creating hype around it because of the Final Fantasy VII remake, but I could be wrong.

 

I would love to see older characters from the earlier games (1-6) and would personally adore seeing Noel and Caius make an appearance.  I think they would fit in well and there could be a lot of potential story for them, along with the fact that they're just awesome characters.
