I like it a bit it is atleast not chapter 8.

Chapter 8 was better cuz it still gives you enough time to do sidequests before heading to Altissia

here you're trapped with all of your weapons taken away and with a dinky ring that does no damage

Storywise it's good but gameplay wise the chapter was shit

Yeah I was actually preparing for chapter8 with doing sidequests and other stuff but then jumped to chapter9.

Well chapter 8 was supposed to be for preprations and just that

Doesn't make it badly designed compared to a chapter that confines you to hallways with THE WEAKEST WEAPON IN THE GAME for 4 hours

Chapter 13:

I hated Chapter 13 when I thought I had the ring I thought I was gonna be a badass character because the game was hyping it up... Ooh how wrong I was!

Through the hole chapter I was like ''wait this is still going I am 2 hours into this chapter jesus'' Godbless I was prepared for situations like this so I had 20 ethers... And wasted almost all of them in this chapter and potions to.

Godbless they update the hole game for chapter 13 which is still a piece of shit

I hated that chapter as well. While I can tolerate stealth mechanics, the whole damn chapter is basically one giant stealth section (at least until you get the sword midway in) Final Fantasy is not Metal Gear Solid, and should not be treated as such.

Chapter 13:

I loved Chapter 13. It made you feel powerless and weak. Without your friends, you can't do anything. You're literally stuck on Ardyn's puppet strings. Even camping alone in those cell chambers made you feel shackled and alone.

To me, chapter 13 would've been great had it been expanded upon. I wouldn't mind a bit of a buff on the ring though. Goddamn it's useless. I died three times just to the first Magitek troop that I couldn't pass.

The ring death isn't actually random, it just varies based on the enemy type. If you look, they slowly wither away, and are eventually completely unable to hit you. It's a super neat effect.

Until I decided to test the limits and use it on the Giant. It worked. Then the giant respawned immediately.

So yeah, Chapter 13 can go to hell.

I think he meant the Holy spell, which just randomly doesn't give a crap about what enemy is there. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

My sister finished this chapter just before I was about to start it and I just spent the whole four hours asking her when it would be over...

Edit: I think one of the worst parts of this chapter was that you gained NO EXPERIENCE for defeating enemies!

As for the ring, it's easy to defeat the MT if you just HOLD square (on PS4, not sure what it is on XBox) as they're about to hit you. Your MP does get drained faster, but you're guaranteed to hit them every time. I always pressed square too early, so the spell missed, but if I start holding it down when the MT starts to swing their weapon and only let go after they finish their attack, the Holy spell hits every time. I have my sister to thank for that hint!

Hope that works for everyone else!

Again,it's the ring that's the problem

I don't mind having my weapons taken away so long as the alternative is decent enough but the ring is the only reason this chapter sucks

When they fix the ring my opinion on the chapter will take a full 180

Problem is the game doesn't do a good job explaining such hint to the player.

As for the experience........I think you do gain experience it's just so miniscule cuz you're defeating one or two enemies at a time

That's true, it took me ages to figure out that you're supposed to hold square to block in order to get the parry option even in regular battles...

You do gain experience at particular points, but it seems to only be 'completion' EXP rather than the battle EXP that you normally earn, although I guess as you say the battle EXP would be really small anyway

I really liked the Hamlet turn that Vs. XIII would've taken. I think I read somewhere that Nomura wasn't confident in romance, but the rest of the darker theme, like Shakespeare and starting at Insomnia and branching out to more wondrous places. I love the combat and comraderie that Tabata has created. If both were combined, and Luna were expanded and/or Stella's concept remained, or even if both coexisted, then I think this game would be perfect.

Yeah, well, we got what we got, but to be fair, the game still turned out to be a work of art, and has injected new lifeblood into the Final Fantasy franchise! I think it's safe to say that the future of the franchise will keep on going strong, ya know? There's no doubt about it! But yeah, XV was awesome! :D

I agree, XV was awesome. And I'm very glad that Tabata is going back to add cutscenes and complete the story. I think the story revisions will be finished before the PC version, so I'm hyped about double dipping. I'm also only going to take the free DLC so that I can replay everything on PC, too. I'm excited for FF's future, and still am excited for FFXV.

By the way, XV is still my favorite FF in the whole series. And I've played the best.

I have just completed chapter 12, and I felt the need to say what I think about the game so far. I will probably make another post after I finish it. Remember, I have not finished the game yet, so my thoughts could change, even if I find it unlikely since there are only 3 chapters left (at least, that's what I read some time ago).
The gameplay is good, but it has some problems. The combat itself is fun and satisfying, not as confusing as it could look like. Sadly the fights are often ruined by the biggest enemy of all: the camera. I found it terrible, mostly against big enemies, because it often goes so near the monster that I literally can't see myself, and when there are trees. Oh my god, the trees. They always, ALWAYS, block my view and the fight becomes a big mess.
The side quests are all fetch quests. These wouldn't bother me too much if there were some bigger missions, but no. So far every side quest was "bring me this" or "kill these" with little to no story at all. Again, the problem is not the presence of many many fetch quests (for me at least), but the absence of bigger ones. Look at Xenoblade or Xenoblade X. Those games have TONS of fetch quests, even more boring than the ones in FFXV, but they also have side missions that evolve the characters and the world around you.
Also, the magic system is nice, but very restricted.
The music is amazing, I'm not spending too many words on it. Yoko Shimomura almost always does a great job.
And then, the story. The story. So far, it was... not very good. I haven't watched Kingslaive, so maybe that would help a lot (in which case, I'd be mad for another reason), but still, I just can't find the story interesting, nor well narrated. Go find the six gods to take out the empire while... stuff... happens. Even important happenings just feel like side stuff, even though they are not. And then stupid and/or random not explained things like (SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 11)

Ardyn taking the appereance of Prompto. What, how, why. I didn't even understand what happend untill I read the little summary during the loading for chapter 12. Maybe it will be explained, but that doesn't justify it.

. Please, tell me I haven't paid enough attention, because that would mean that I'm stupid and the story is not this flawed. Then again, I haven't finished the game yet, and everything could happen, but I don't think I can change my mind at this point, even if the ending is as good as I heard.
I know, I should have waited, but I needed to write this. Sorry for the long post, and remember that Ignis will always come up with a new recipe.

So looks like the CEO will be the 2nd superboss lol

Hopefully he will be actually hard

Not a fun of the turtle since it's just speedrunning a boss. I was never a fan of boss fights that their gimmick is that they are just taking long to beat. Thankfully, it can be done under 8 minutes, so it is nowhere near as bad as Yiazmat.

Also dat fat Promto boss xD

No that was real! HE did that and never uses that power again later anyway so that was just for plot reasons. And btw remember those two dogs in the beginning of the game with Luna? the white and the black dog well

The white dog dies of screen and get's mentioned in a freaking load screen YEAH LOAD SCREENS ARE THAT IMPORTANT 0_0

.

I love the charaters though and I thought the ending was good if you know what is going on

I know right?! I cant wait for the carnivel next month here is video of ceo fight

He only needs Darth Vader theme or Sephiroth theme and it will be perfect

I have been wondering this since I had started and defeated chapter 13. Was that a early build for FF7 Remake with Midgar? It reminds me of Midgar so yeah I think they might use some of the surroundings from FF15 and change a bit for the Remake

Well, I finished Final Fantasy XV about a week ago, and I have to say that I was surprised that I managed to beat it in 30 hours! I thought the game would be a tad bit longer! Like, it'd take me about 40 hours to finish it! Granted, I didn't go and do all the sidequests, so if I had done that, I would have probably logged in a few extra hours.  But to the point, I thought that the game was amazing, and it felt amazing to play! The story was also really good, but some little details bothered me that makes the game feel a tad bit incomplete, ya know? I wanna get all my thoughts of the game into video, cuz I've been meaning to do a review video of Final Fantasy XV!

But yeah, the game was so badass, and I loved the characters, especially Ardyn! Such a major badass! X_X

yes i loved to hate ardyn. I was right with noct when he was raging against him. And with doing sidequests and hunts took me 109 hours to beat the game

Haha, well, a good villain makes us rage and pull our hair out, so I say that Ardyn antagonized us in style! And wow, 109 hours!? That's impressive! :O

I love FF15 but come the firetruck on

A lot of content was cut and scrapped and redone during development. A LOT.

A lot of content was cut and scrapped and redone during development. A LOT.

Too much. Most of it was fine as-is. I understand that business is business and they had to sell this game ASAP, but it was like half the story was missing! Depressed Cor, the car being another "party member", heck, it'd be nice as hell if you could join Luna's "party". I felt the timeskip was unnecessary, because there was nothing to gain from it. And longer nights never affected the in game experience - I was hoping it would get dangerous and dark at 16 in-game time and Ignis would be like "Oh heeeelllll no we ain't bumpin' in that car now!"

So the latest Ultimania books in Japan have revealed some interesting information. Character ages for Cor, Aranea and Iris have been revealed and they are 45, 30 and 15 respectivly. It has also been noted that these three will be playable in the Comrades DLC. Luna has a planned appearance, but nothing has been confirmed for her yet. They would like to do it though. We are also introduced to Prompto's biological father.

Also, the games ending was left vague on purpose
