The fight takes nearly a decade, but we only get to see bits of it, and in the end, it's finished by someone else.

I actually think it's the most probable guess Noctis is wishful thinking for me, but Tifa returning makes a lot of sense.

What references? Are you talking about when FF XIII and FF XV were originally meant to have the same mythology?

I'm betting on it just being another villain from the original game... After they hyped up a reveal for it to just be Sephiroth, I'm not getting my hopes up for an actual new character.

Pretty sure he means using Lightning as a fill in for Stella (in the trailer), since she kinda poses like her. Think Cloud reveal trailer in Smash Bros. with the Sephiroth reference.

So weird that so many people care for a game that is not even playable outside of japan on an arcade machine. Still, noctis seems very likely. I will freak out  if it was sora. His appearance in WoFF makes me hope square enix finally sees the potential in sora as a mascot and doesnt treat him like the unwanted son anymore.

How is Sora treated like an unwanted son...? Kingdom Hearts has become second only to Final Fantasy in terms of Square's international brand popularity. If anything, that title would go to characters like Crono or Serge, or anything from Dragon Quest outside Japan.

We care because we like Final Fantasy. Kingdom Hearts is not hugely popular so I don't see why you're against this. Sora is not coming to Dissidia until they get real Final Fantasy characters out of the way. It's not going to be Sora.

They weren't meant to fight, she was just meant to be in Versus 13. But I doubt square would do that since they seem to want to just vanquish Versus from existence.

SE can't do with Sora whatever they please, he belongs to Disney and they can't do anything without their permision, he'll never become a SE mascot.
