Should ROXAS RETURN in Kingdom Hearts 3?

Featured Replies

It would be fine with me if roxas would live inside sora forever and got to live the happy live he never had through him, but if IF he returns I  think it should be in the last cutscene as the final cherry on top of the sweet emotion cake

Well there is nothing hinted everything was hinted already at the end of 3D.

Roxas isn't in my list of the 7 lights. It would be cool though if he fights together as a spirit.

Everyone to be revived by the Key to Return Hearts and Sora especially should appear:

Roxas.

Xion.

Ventus.

Terra.

Namine.

Etc, know what i mean? Roxas is a very major character in KH, he's like the Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog of KH, he should make an appearance and get his life back, its only fair to him and the others.

I know that it's been basically confirmed that Roxas and Xion will return. That doesnt mean storywise they should, and also that is what tragedies are for, sometimes characters don't get what they deserve. I have repeated this multiple time on the comments for the video and said my reasoning's in the video. Did you watch the video?

No but still, i just want to say that they SHOULD get their happy endings, i'm just stating my opinion is all.

Alright I can respect that.

He will return, but he probably shouldn't. As a character he's gone through a pretty complete and satisfying arc. It doesn't feel narratively necessary to bring him back.

But it's not like he's an annoying personality or anything, so there's some mileage to get out of seeing him interact with all of the other characters who will be around.

This was a very interesting and well thought out video, Arcane! As always, you craft out quality videos! :D

And well, you make very solid points in your video. Indeed, death in Kingdom Hearts seems like a pointless concept, since shocking or impactful deaths in the series wind up not meaning a thing since characters always find a way to come back somehow, with the exception of Eraqus, whom to this day remains dead, and his heart lives on in Terra!

I'm obviously all up for seeing Roxas and the others come back and become their own people, as they deserve so after all they've been through, but I can definitely understand what you mean in terms of what more can they offer to the story that hasn't already been covered, ya know? Hopefully, Nomura will know how to handle these stories in a satisfying way, ya know? :)

I see what you mean with purpose, but with the example of Master Eraqus... it's true that his spirit resides within Terra's heart as pointed out  by Master Xehanort in "Blank Points", Master Yen Sid did point out that 'Eraqus' star has blinked out' signifying his death. I kinda have an idea that the stars indicates the living with every new star representing a birth while a star blinking out represents death. Anyways, I digress. The whole debate on whether Roxas should return or not really interests me. I personally believe that Roxas should play a role in the revival of Ventus and later show in the credit that he (more or less) lives on within Kingdom Hearts, along with Xion, Vanitas, "Repliku", Eraqus and others who have 'died' (as spirits). I know this sounds like what you expect in a fanfiction, but please hear me out. What if every heart originally came from Kingdom Hearts, thus returning to Kingdom Hearts again upon death? I figure that if they bring back a 'lost' character, it may turn out wrong and that the character would be suffering (especially inwardly) until they were 'killed off again', granting them peace. I'd figure that's exactly what may happen if they bring Xion back, but that's just me. What do you think.

For that thought of them returning to Kingdom Hearts isn't far off from what I would like to think what they mean by Sora being able to save them or return them. I was hoping they would be able to bring them back in a sort of metaphorical sense, while their actual beings don't return completely but their hearts will merge into one place to be together in a sense saved and returned in this case it could be Kingdom Hearts. I think that could be fitting to the story, flow with how things could end and also still be emotional while still leaving the meaning of alot of the previous emotional scenes in tact. Good idea.

Return to kill again. As for me, they will suffer even more. Let Roxas already feel like a man. He fights for all 358/2 days and the prologue KH2. In addition, Roxas, Namine, Xion are not dead, but in the Kingdom of the Heart living is not the place.
