So, school has started(for those of you still in it) and I have had trouble with school/homework and I know others have too.

So I made this.

This is a thread dedicated to helping with any problems you have with school or homework.

Mind you, we won't just give you answers but we have to actually HELP you. Don't just expect an answer like:

The answer is 4.

or

Lewis structures.

Just elaborate as much as you can so a person can actually GET the problem or question.

kthnxbegin.

I'm a freshman in high school so this is probably gonna seem stupidly easy to you (show your work o3o)

4.A poster is 25 cm taller than it is wide. It is mounted on a piece of cardboard so that there is a 5 cm border on all sides. If the area of the border alone is 1350 cm2, what are the dimensions of the poster?

5. A brick patio is twice as long as it is wide. It is bordered on all sides by a garden 1.5m wide. Find the dimensions of the patio If the area of the garden is 54m2.

6. A house has two rooms of equal area. One room is square and the other room is a rectangle 4 ft narrower and 5 ft longer than the square one. Find the area of each room.

This thread needs to come back. So let's revive it :P

The answer is 5. ;)

16) 5

f(4) = (2*4)-3

= 8-3

= 5

17) 23

h(-3) = 9+9+5

= 18+5

= 23

18) 6

g(31) = (square root)(31+5)

= (square root) (36)

= 6

19) 6

h(2) + g(4) = (22-(3*2)+5) + ((square root) (4+5))

= 3+3

= 6

20) -1

f(3)-h(-1)+g(20) = ((2*3)-3) - ((-12) -(3*-1)+5) + ((square root)(20+5))

= 3-9+5

= -1

21) 15/2

f(x) = 12

<=> 2x - 3 = 12

<=> 2x = 15

<=> x = 15/2

I don't know the other two :(

I've got 13,14 and 15....but the rest is like WHAT

For #16 - 18, all you are doing is inputting the number into the function. For example, #16 is basically saying "solve for x=4 for the function of f(x)". In that case, for every "x", you input the number being asked, so it'd end up being "f(4) = 2(4) - 3"

For #19 and #20, all you are doing is adding the results of the functions together. For example, on #19, find the solution for h(2) and g(4) separately, and then add the numbers together.

For #21 and #22, the solution for the function is given. So, working with algebra, all you have to do is find the "x" value. For example, for #21, since f(x)=12, you can put down the function as "12 = 2x - 3" and then solve from there.

For the extension one, since I'm not sure if that part's required or not, I'll just give you a hint: you are solving one function, and using the answer for that one to solve another function. It's really easy to overcomplicate, but it's actually rather simple once you realize what it's asking for.

What do ya need help on? I'll walk ya through it so you can understand the concept

Better learn thar Neko-chan, for when you use it in real life.

Anyway, I need to write a newspaper article. I don't know why I'm even on this thread

you will never use it, unless you study engineering and i´m still wondering the purpose of Fourier series...O.o

Question: Find the derivative: y = 3x - 5cos(πx)2

I pretty much know what to do regarding using the chain rule except for the first step. Help plz?

EDIT: Nvm I think I got it. Thanks anyway

Been a while since this thread has been updated.

I was thinking of posting a thread like this but I remembered that this one already existed.

Don't hesitate to ask for help, guys! We're all here to aid each other :)

I could do a Law question, but I'm not sure if someone could answer it xD

Here goes anyways:

Belmiro is taking care of Fonseca, a hunting dog that belongs to Jeronimo.

Belmiro fell asleep, and Fonseca, the hunting dog, escaped.

Catarina is taking care of Leonor, a baby.

Catarina fell asleep, and Leonor, the baby, escaped.

The baby encountered the hunting dog, and bit it violently, making the dog unable to hunt anymore.

Jeronimo wants to be reimbursed.

Can he ask for this? And if he can, who's gonna pay him?

Not really much onto law here but....

hypothetically

If the baby was the responsible for the dog's injuries and there is proof of that [like fingerprints or something similar], then I believe that he could ask for it. Although Catarina was the one taking care of the baby, legally, he / she is under his parents' guard, so the baby's mother/father would have to pay it if Jeromino went thourgh law procedures and won the case.

[How did I do?]

Yes, and no xD

If Catarina was taking care of the baby as a favor, then the parents would have to reimburse Jeronimo.

However, if Catarina signed some kind of official paper that proved that she was taking care of the baby, then Catarina would be the one to pay :)

(I think xD)

Not where I thought this was going at all...

I guess answering doesn't mean much, since the answer has already been posted, but I would've guessed that Catarina would have had to pay.
