Hey did you know that eels have a tiny second jaw within their throat that drags food down to it esophagus for swallowing? Its what inspired Ridley scotts alien movie design

eels are wierd. They go through morphological changes when they mature and become different speices

they will go from a clear eel, to a yellow eel, to a silver eel, to an american eel, and will often become a european eel

Isn't that just metamorphosis?

It technically isnt because that is only used to describe amphibians and insects and there have to be 2 distinct differences, when in eels they only really change color

also tiger sharks are cannibals

I just finished studying for my Ichtyology exam (study of fish) for 3 hours

Tiger sharks are like number 3 of the list of sharks that’s attacked people

Bull Sharks are number 1

Tiger sharks eat their own brothers and sisters inside of their mother before they are released into the wild

Only 1 tiger shark is usually born because it activley kills any other offspring

Technically there is no womb for tiger sharks

the eggs are held inside of the mother in a simple cavity, the eggs are completely self sustained, containing their own food and nourishment

the first one to hatch and successfully start eating their brothers and sisters is the one that survives
