No, i think its more of unforseen consequences type of deal.

A good example of the contrary was EA forcing Eidos to make Dead Space 3 more enjoyable to the average consumer by reducing the horror aspect and upping the grey third-person shooter aspect

Which backfired because the fans didn't like that change and the average consumer already has one thousand grey shooters a year

Tbh you're right, I shouldn't spend my free time on things I don't even enjoy, maybe I'll mainly focus on things I enjoy while they last. And even if all games in the world became radioactive crap, I can just find another hobby

I hope devs get more creative freedom and better working conditions in the future because people have started to call the companies out for this shit. Just look how Blizzards image got firetrucked in the past year
