Xehanort's not the type of guy to get caught up in the implications of his actions, he just gets things done.

In a way, that kinda makes him the perfect foil for Sora. Sora is also very impulsive. He just never realizes the implications of his actions until after the fact. The difference between Xehanort and Sora is Sora acknowledges the implications and often even tries to correct his mistakes.

ending of 3 gave direct consquences against sora's actions which is parallel to the old man himself
