So that means that either a) Darkness and Vanitas are two different people, which doesn't make sense given the thematic context. or b) Darkness returns to Ven's heart later and waits until BBS for Xehanort to extract it.

 

 

But that also wouldn't made sense as how would Xehanort know about extracting the darkness and what it would become

 

 

I feel like some scenes from KH3 would be able help make this make more sense
