If he lives on an archipelago their entire livelihood and economy is dependent on safe sea transport

It’d be pretty rough if on the way to the play island they got held hostage by pirates or smth or the trade boats kept getting hijacked

And I don’t see a navy in destiny islands

Destiny Islands never had a pirate problem I bet. His first dissapointment with pirates does make it seem like he, like most kids, grew up on the more romantic fictional view of them. Xp

He also loves superheros so I bet he was a huge nerd for all those hero and pirate stories growing up. Which, relatable. XD
