I hope Nomura gives us something different instead of rehashing the movie again. Maybe like I don't know follow the

TV series and cue us on in Genie's backstory with his ex master, the Mukhtars (I don't know if anyone remembers them but they were a tribe of snake-reptilian people that hunted genies with their anti-magic tools and rode on some bird-like thing that could pass as the Final Fantasy series' Chocobos' estranged, disheveled and creepy cousin.

But that would mean going back ten thousand years to when Genie was traded to some sorcerer by his master, so said master could have eternal life. He hired the remaining Mukhtar to capture Genie so his over ten thousand year old master could get eternal youth and at the conclusion of the episode swore he would get Genie back after his ex slave and Aladdin parted ways.

 

 

Oh and Genie's former master is so old that Genie complained about being bitten by his master's sabertooth weasel.
