I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

I finished Tales of Symphonia (PS3). This game really holds up for me still to this day. Is the battle system outdated and didn't age well? Of course and I was shit at it. And yet... outside of the first Sword Dancer boss and the bosses that were either impossible or not required to win... I didn't get a single Game Over. So I guess you could make the argument I didn't get a single Game Over period. Great story and great characters. Still holds up REALLY well for me. I'm going to try to start Symphonia DOTNW tonight. The sequel that everyone hates (except me). Will my opinion change on it? Well anything is possible I suppose. But personally... I doubt it.

Berseria
Symphonia
Zestiria
Vesperia

Idk, I thought dotnw was fine

So did I when I originally played it

Sometimes dated mechanics add to the charm, sometimes not.

Like I replayed 007 Nightfire for the first time a while back and I could not get the controls to work lol

PS2.

just started the stranger of paradise demo, and i told it to focus on performance instead of resolution. question: does that make the conversation scenes look like ass? like, when it's a pre-rendered scene, things look fine. but once it switches to "gameplay" style scenes, things look, uh... bad

I’d say the only time this is the case is of said mechanics make the game more challenging in a fair way

However this often isn’t the case. Lives are bullshit and I shall die on this hill!

not looking for an opinion, just an answer to the question. there's a time for opinions, but that ain't now

like, this shit looks bad. i play plenty of games, final fantasy games included. my ps4 isn't dying or anything, and yet the stuff i'm seeing is making me regret trying this demo

Performance for smooth gameplay, resolution might be good for cutscenes, that's my guess at least I might have to test this later

Damn. I don't even know how to switch that setting, either. It doesn't look like there's anything in the menu that matches what I was seeing before

Maybe it's like a group of settings? Like "choose performance and we'll set these 5 settings to specific values"

Kinda? But nothing that seems like it'd change things to be higher resolution or anything like that

Funny how the trains in Liguria still have the Luca ads since last year, guess they were that honored to be in a Disney film

Hey that's actually pretty neat they still have it.

Very rare moment in which I don't mind something not changing despite all the time that's passed

13 years, its finally here

it does look pretty at least

I love the visual effects of the first installment they were fantastic, but the story sterling department wasn't the greatest, hoping the sequel might have interesting storytelling atleast
