Why are there these days only so less and few popular free to play games that are somehow enjoyable and are considered good on consoles ?

because the f2p model is a gamble that is unsustainable in most case and most genre already have a massive leader you can't steal players from (fps are saturated, league is too scary for mobas, genshin and their devs dominates rpgs, etc.)

so devs either don't even try or just make a quick 6 months service game to rack up cash from gullible people
