he struggled with addiction, yes. though from what i saw, it didn't look like they played a role in his death

May he rest in peace. People should understand that they should seek help when needed. Friends or family should encourage them to do this.

It's all a lot harder than it seems on the outside

he has used them post friends. he struggled with getting clean and addiction battles constantly. drugs can catch up to you after being clean years later. He was playing pickleball before he was in the hot tub so that can be a factor of his death.

It's rarely as simple as just asking for help. If it were, they would've tried that.

The trouble with addiction is it creates an extra need. It makes a void in our minds and sometimes even our bodies where there never was one before. Adding insult to injury, filling said void is far from a simple task. It requires intervention from someone who both knows and cares about you deeply; whether that be family, friends, or a professional. The reason intervention is needed is because a lot of people don't even realize that the void exists.
