Unfortunately I think Doug is just saying what he's been told to say

i think so too

though i also think reggie was sort of a glue between nintendo america and japan

and i think he helped give the company some heart

so far doug hasn't been fufilling that role as much, and is more so just a spokesperson so far for the company, not necessarily doing much from within from what we have seen or heard

not saying hes doing a bad job

you don't hear anything about doug

he doesn't have much presence really, they aren't trying to push for that like with how social Reggie was

could be dougs own personality playing a part in it maybe

He's basically a glorified mouthpiece. You could replace him with a Twitter account and nothing would be lost.

he might get more involved though

Actually, now that I think about it, a lot of Nintendo's practices lately can be chalked up to a change in leadership. There's been a lot of it lately. Hell, even the CEO changed.
