#XehanortDidNothingWrong

I support xehanorts choices

everyone had their own view on right and wrong. to xehanort he believed he was doing good. sure we could say it was bad, but he wasn't trying to be a villain. just did things his own way

kh4 may help redeem him further then the ending of kh3 if we get another version of him in scala or quadratum

I wanna know why player lied to him and called him the child of destiny. They were setting him up for failure 💀

he still was a child of destiny

without xehanort, odds are sora wouldnt have been put on the true path he was needed

you need child of destiny's to help other child of destiny's

"The World needs someone to stand up and lead. Someone strong, to stop the weak from polluting the World with their Endless darkness. Someone to dictate their Destiny."
This is such an important speech for Xehanort and I love it so much. Xehanort is an amazing character.

These are the words of a potential tyrant

I mean the side of light is honestly just as bad as darkness

both sides end each other, and we dont really know what happened during that 1st war.

Idk if they're "just as bad" considering some of the heinous stuff done by those on the dark side (and more frequently, too)

Light without Darkness is blinding, Darkness without Light is an abyss. You cannot have one without the other.

Is a trope that exists not in KH

KH does a really bad job of trying to showcase any nuance between Light and Darkness

One is good, the other is evil

There's no attempt to say otherwise

Even Eraqus in KH BBS admits it was Darkness clouding his heart

Xehanort in the Re:Mind flashback believes that people are ruled by Darkness masquerading as a false light. Attempting to champion good but are in actuality evil

Darkness is a naturally corruptive force that consumes, infects and destroys. The Realm of Darkness is effectively super hell

The manifestations of true Darkness are formless scheming child murderers. The manifestations of pure Light are dormant inside of pure princesses who are paragons of goodness

And worlds seem to be doing just fine and dandy until Darkness is introduced and things go badly

It was the excess of darkness that messed up the worlds; not the existence of it

The world was noted to exist bathed in light, it was the introduction of darkness in general that began muddying everything. As people became corrupted by it

When people began to covet Kingdom Hearts, and Darkness as an entity existed, it continued to expand and infect

It's existence is noted, even by itself to be that way. It spreads, infects and consumes innately. And darkness leads to more darkness. It's a spiral of consequences as seen with Terra and Riku. And Riku is noteworthy because he's immune to its naturally corruptive and corrosive effects. Whereas Terra was trying to be good, trying to protect his friends, but darkness had taken root and it almost cost him his existence because Xehanort took advantage of it

It's existence is naturally bad for everyone but itself

On the flipside, Light has no bad effects at all. And when things are pure light, or close to it, things are in harmony

You give people one ff14 storyline that shows how light can be bad and dark can be good and now you've got folks trying to apply that to everything

to be fair, the notion of darkness being not all that bad has been a thing since chain of memories.

KH has always kinda blurred the lines.

look at Eraqus and Riku as examples

If anything the games have reiterated how neither darkness or light are good or evil. 🤷 just one being harder to control over the other.

but that’s just my interpretation so 🤷

I don't think Riku and Eraqus can be used as good metrics for it

Eraqus in BBS directly acknowledges that in his dogmatic pursuit of light, he allowed himself to be ruled by darkness instead

He was championing light but let darkness into his heart

Which is directly Xehanort's philosophy

Riku is also noted to be immune to the bad things darkness does to someone

Which is different than darkness being good

Anyone else using it would risk corruption, his heart is just steeled to it

In both cases it's the individual who is exemplifying positive and negative qualities. Rather than Light and Darkness being evil and good respectively

ahhh. That makes sense tbh that it lies on the individual. 😮

Anywhere else and the series has Darkness as this corrupting negative force that is even referenced in regards to the Seven Deadly Sins, and Light as something that inspires growth and goodness. While someone can use either for whatever purpose they please, that's an individual decision to do so. But we've seen throughout the series that Light and Darkness are Good and Evil in a cosmic sort of way

ye exactly

Terra was trying to protect his friends, but him having allowed darkness into his heart, and his strong feelings brought it out more, which allowed Xehanort to steal his body. While he was doing a good act, his darkness had that negative effect on him

see. I feel like that whole good and evil thing applies mostly to the age a fairytales rather than “current day” in the series.
I always thought both light and dark were required to make the universe of KH function the way it does, and that neither are inherently good or bad.
But yeah. People have predominantly used darkness for bad things and it’s corrupted and destroyed a lot, though. So I can 100% see the negative effects that darkness has had on the series.

It doesn't help that Terra is emotionally stunted and doesn't know how to process negative emotions well.

yeah but true darkness isn't necessarily "bad"

if you think of baldr in khdr, the darkness just wanted to live but being darkness where if anybody with the side of light sees it they will want to eradicate it so only choice is to be defensive and dangerous to survive.

likewise if you take into account vanitas, he is darkness but its not all entirely bad. He obeyed xehanort instead of just being against him so it shows darkness can choose sides in a sense*. Vanitas isnt entirely evil/bad more so just a depressed/confused person that may become a neutral ally in kh4

if kh4 doesnt showcase an opportunity where people who were originally aligned with the darkness coming to the aid of sora&the others against MoM. Then I dont think the series will get much opportunity for that to be a reality unless the ending sets up kh5 introducing that. I still expect to see darkness used for good, which in essence can mean original darkness being neutral. Not evil, but not good either.

my theory is that the ancient war was started by the light and is what pushed darkness to become how its perceived now. If darkness & light lived in a neutral standing, then 1 day light side said darkness is bad and must be destroyed. That wouldn't make darkness bad, if anything it would mean Light side was implying their own form of justice for life which in my opinion makes them worse then darkness. Kh4 hopefully will touch base on this to know what MoM really experienced in the ancient war.

We will never be able to use keyblade armor in the games, huh ?

Not very likely, unfortunately.

BBS was the first and last time.

yes he is. he admitted it himself in 3

I meaaan if you count the Mirage Arena >.>

I mean… ReMind and dark road showed Keyblade armor, so I wouldn’t count it out just yet.
but most likely we won’t 🤷 Sora’s never really had a reason to use it since he drives a gummiship.
