Yeah its weird cause Luxu says "So i guess Ava didn't make it after all" and Gula eventually says "is that why you excluded her" which he just says "As if, she carried out her own mission", so it seems even he was a bit unsure if she would make it back or not from what she needed to do.

In the JP version, he says, - as expected, Ava isn't here. So he defo wasn't expecting her to be there. EN makes it seem more ambigious for whatever reason.
