yes people can be exploited by mobile games, and yes a lot of companies go for that route for more money obviously, but it is most definitely not inherently tied to mobile gaming at all. some incredible games started as mobile games(Monument Valley, Sky), others are fully playable on mobile now (FF1-9, DQ, Dead Cells, etc). it's literally just another platform. blame devs for their money grubbing, not mobile gaming. some PC games have some pretty bad exploitation as well, but no one is out there claiming all PC games are destined to fail because of that

ML probably wasn't going to be the greatest mobile game ever, and it definitely would have been gimmicky with the geolocation stuff, but i can tell you for sure it would have been an incredible time having a semi-multiplayer online experience for this series. of course, I'm not saying it isn't without its flaws either. STOP PUTTING CANON STORY INTO MOBILE GAMES SQUARE

alas, it'll never see the light of day anyway

the thing is though it was large SE that made me sick of mobile gaming. which stings all the more cause they used to make decent mobile games. and having played the beta, ML was gonna be gatch centric with a severely watered down experience compared to the rest of the series. the gps was a very week gimmick.

I'm just sick and tired of Square shoving canon lore in mobile games. Half of the fandom doesn't even know the UX lore! They never touched the game because it's a mobile game. And majority of the time, mobile games = gacha so that makes it even worse. It just pushes away fans (not all) from it.

And it literally does not help that UX was chibi-style and had NO voice acting, so watching all of the main story cutscenes as a movie on YT is...quite a journey lol

Okay, yeah, ML is 3D and had voice acting but at the end of the day they're still shoving canon lore into a gacha game, and I assure you that half of the fandom (or maybe a little less) was not going to play it

Me being one of them, I was legit just going to watch the cutscenes on YT

I had to explain to my friend who Strelitzia was after the KH4 trailer. I was fun though as he's not terribly fond of Marluxia thanks to KH2FR

is there anything exclusive to the mobile game that was needed to understand kh3 ?

hmm... maybe just the appearance of ephemer and the names on the reaction commands. and the ending scene with luxu and the foretellers (along with the re:mind scene)

So before the collections that would've been Chain of Memories, Days, Coded, Birth By Sleep, and Dream Drop Distance on top of Union Cross. Are you just admitting to being one of those KH fans (you know the ones, the ones who only see KH1/KH2/KH3/ and eventually KH4)? That's a whole lot of KH not to have played and enjoyed just because you don't wanna touch stuff that isn't a home-console. 

@Limen - Putting canon into the games that are not numbered entries is a key way to incentivize people into buying/playing the other games. From a business standpoint it would make little sense to not put canon into them.

i actually think more people played khux than any of the spin-offs

but hard to verify if they actually went through the story
