I think the green eyes make perfect sense in the context of his character. Most of the heroes of light have blue eyes, and yellow eyes are mostly associated with darkness (the heartless, xehanort, etc). Green is perfectly between those two colors, representing how Riku perfectly balances the two

Tho now that my attention has been drawn to it, its kind of ridiculous how many KH characters have blue eyes, its like 90% of the cast who arent norts

give me some purple eyes damnit

I'm really struggling to think of any KH characters with brown eyes. Only one that comes to mind is pre-Nort Braig.

and maybe KH2 Terra-Nort if you REALLY wanna stretch it.
