no i remembered she is a true keyblade wielder thanks to aqua but i mean can she summon her own keyblade since she was GIVEN the destiny's embrace by riku.

Maybe but its not like shes a main character.

no she is she's just not one of the main keyblade wielders is all.

I think she can , but because she didn't get in any troubles after that she didn't summon her keyblade

Maybe, but i dont think that we can say that for sure.

We know that she touched aqua

No. Kairi cannot summon her own Keyblade, but because of her connection to Aqua and Sora, she can use one, but it has to be given to her.

Exactly. It can also be given from Riku.

This.

If you can't summon a keyblade, then you aren't a TRUE keyblade wielder; your just someone who can keep hold of a keyblade without it disappearing.

Maybe, but i dont think that we can say that for sure.

Well, Kairi gained the ability to use the Keyblade after accidentally touching Aqua's Keyblade in BBS, and then she used the Keyblade in KH2 to fight off some Heartless. Sadly, since Nomura's so contempt on keeping her a minor character, we'll probably never know if she truly has the power.

O My god i just realized in port royal didn't jack hold sora's keyblade

As did Leon, however it immediatly went back to Sora. Anybody can grab a Keyblade, but not many can actually use one, and fewer can actually summon one.

Might we say Sora was not a TRUE wielder for all of kh1 because he was using Riku's keyblade (or Vens, or ven just gave him the ability, but it really doesn't matter which in this case). Kairi has the ability just like Sora and Xion did when they needed to use anothers keyblade. I mean, at least kairi had the ability to wield that was her own and not somebody else's. Ultimately, I think that BOTH Sora and Kairi were not TRUE keyblade wielders at first, and because of this I really don't think it matters that Kairi isn't a true keyblade master.

She is a keyblade wielder. Tetsuya has confirmed that. I'm not sure why she was given a keyblade. It's possible that she just didn't know how to call upon one. Besides, it's not like we've ever really seen how some people get their their first ever keyblade. We don't know how Riku got his. Sora's was kinda hidden from us. It's possible that if Ventus is the person who was talking to Sora throughout KH1, then he triggered the power within Sora to wield one. But it is possible that people have to be told in some way how to wield their keyblades. It's not like they really know if they even can wield one. And at that time, I'm sure Riku had no time to explain to Kairi how to call one for herself.

A big thing in my mind that points to her being a keyblade wielder is that if what Riku handed her in The World That Never Was was his keyblade, what did he use on the heartless during that time? This point is not concrete, but it does raise some questions for me.

Um...I believe he summoned Way To Dawn, like right after that. Riku is odd, because he seems to use many keyblades, while technically Sora has only ever used the Kingdom Key. (Keychains are non-canon.) I believe it was said how Riku gained that particuarly blade and gave it to Kairi. I think it was in an interview or maybe one of the novels or something.

Can't we just pretend she was never given a keyblade?

Kairi was able to wield a keyblade maybe like you guys said, given by aqua or maybe her grandmother had a past of her being a keyblade wielder.

Sora was not the keyblade wielder to begin but maybe because of ventus being inside sora, he was able to wield it.

Riku was suppose to be the original keyblade wielder but because of his intent to be into the darkness, light had other plans which is sora. Terra pass on his power or hope onto riku.

Really? What other keyblades has he used?

I think that in the novels, the keyblade he gave Kairi was supposed to be his second one. Anyway, I think that the question of the keyblade he gave to Kairi, and of how he got the Way to the Dawn, will probably be answered in BBS Volume II. At least, it better be. Or I will be one unhappy camper.

And keychains aren't cannon? I learn something new every day...

I totally agree that she is not a true keyblade wielder because she cant summon destinys embrace but because she is connected to aqua and sora she can use it without disipearing but some one has to give it to her.

Riku has used Soul Eater, The Keyblade of People's Hearts, Way to Dawn, Oblivion and he has wielded Destiny's Embrace but never used it in battle. Oblivion was given to him by Roxas. And how Riku got Way To Dawn is a bit unclear but it's thought his Soul Eater either changed and sort of evolved shall we say. This is shown by how Riku still calls his blade Soul Eater.

And yeah, Keychains aren't cannon. That's why you get some cutscenes with Sora using the Kingdom Key in KH1 and 2 and BBS for A, T and V. And then like all of them in the other side games like re:coded and days, except where Roxas wielded Oblivion and Oathkeeper.

Soul Eater isn't a Keyblade, it's just a sword made of darkness. Between Land of Dragons 2nd visit and The World That Never Was, Riku somehow turned it into Way to Dawn.

Prove it.

She isn't connected to Aqua, it was the rite of succession, and wielders heart in another's giving the other person the ability to wield, doesn't mean its inverse is true. When might have kairi even thought of summoning a keyblade? She wouldn't have, just as Roxas (kh2) and Sora wouldn't have thought of summoning at first, but when the next battle comes around they summon it by themselves. Say kairi was actually forced to fight such as in Sora/Roxas' destati when they fight darkside/twilight thorn, she would summon her keyblade and kick some . If you are going to use "hurry back" as an example of her disability, was she really forced to go, and hasn't she took on that sort of a character (kh1: sora and kairi in the cave in traverse town).

As I have said before, if you are saying Kairi isn't a true wielder, then what does that make Sora in kh1 (before hollow bastion when Sora takes the keyblade from Riku). Think about how Sora actually became a wielder in that game: First of all, he had the ability because of Ventus residing in his heart, while kairi's ability to wield was hers and hers only due to having the rite. Then, for most of the game, he is wielding Riku's keyblade, because the keyblade went to him. Another example of needing borrowing (yes I know sora didn't exactly borrow it from riku, but the concept having to use a keyblade that isn't his/her own is the same) is with Xion when she loses the ability to wield, but after using Roxas' keyblade for a bit she is able to summon her own.

and eventually Sora is able to wield all on his own just as xion was conceptually, and soon how kairi will be. Finally it comes down to what we consider being a true wielder is because kairi is just as much of a wielder as Sora in kh1 with the exception of experience in summoning it.

first of all how did riku even get destiny's embrace?

No. Kairi cannot summon her own Keyblade, but because of her connection to Aqua and Sora, she can use one, but it has to be given to her.

Er... I'm afraid this is entirely incorrect and based off imaginary presumptions. Kairi underwent the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony (though unintentionally), which explicitly states that "So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be." As an inheritor of a Keyblade and as a Keyblade wielder, it is undoubtedly implicit that one should be able to summon that weapon willingly. There has never been an instance where this is NOT true. And to say that "Aqua's Keyblade is still around and thus cannot be used" would be false as well; it's not the same Keyblade that is inherited, only the ability to wield a Keyblade. Riku's Keyblade has never been Terra's Earthshaker (which is still around, wielded by the Lingering Sentiment). He inherited Terra's ability to wield the Keyblade, and thus was able to summon the Kingdom Key (though, initially, this went to Sora instead), and later the Way to Dawn. Kairi's situation is NO DIFFERENT than Riku's; they both underwent a Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony. Thus, her condition as a Keyblade wielder and Riku's are identical. Hers, perhaps, just has yet to be discovered and/or developed more. I am confident that Nomura will expand upon her role as a Keyblade wielder in the future.
