Chocolate and strawberry milk going to be banned from schools

Posted

This only goes for LAUSD (los angeles unified school district) and it's been around for a few months for a while......

Basically, it has the same amount of sugar as a candy bar, the matter is, WHY TAKE IT AWAY?!

I don't want plain boring milk :(

And how does this make sense? Schools ban weird things

Funny, they sell ice cream and Doritos at my school and there banning chocolate and strawberry milk? lol They should do something about it being frozen all the time =_=

Well Here is Brazil we have to bring snacks every day and have lunch at our houses so yeah...

You bring yours, Kinode?

I buy mine in the canteen! But I have lunch at home as well... It's pretty good, though. Grandmother's lunch haha

Well I go to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles but I don't really drink sweetened milk, but I love milk :) I hear they're banning bake sales also.

Adults don't want kids to eat more sugar in their milk so that means no chocolate or strawberry in the LAUSD.

That's every kind of jacked up. I loved the chocolate milk my school had.

You know what will happen? Kids will start bringing nesquik powder from home to mix with the milk. Eventually, a black market will start and kids will be trading sticks of gum and pokemon cards for milk flavoring. Seriously, the government learned nothing from the prohibition. They are just asking for an adolescent mafia to start.

0o0 no more chocolate or strawberry milk!?

xD Heh, I could actually see that happening. I have seen something similar in my school, you were allowed to bring a water bottle into class, but you could only have water in it. So people started bringing in those individual packets of Powerade, and share with others. They weren't really trading or selling them though. Some idiots did try snorting it on the bus...

As for the chocolate milk, I would be very upset, as that was the only skim milk they offered at my school. I can't stand drinking milk with fat in it, as it doesn't taste right to me. Strawberry milk doesn't sound all that good though...

Banning flavored milk?

Just when I thought schools couldn't get any stupider... v_v

lucky for me im out of skool but that still sucks

Blasphemy. This is all blasphemy. Good thing I live in L.A, but my school isn't in LAUSD. Poor kids can't drink flavored milk, what a shame.

Personally, I find all these food bannings ridiculous. The entire point of school is to educate kids to a level where they can safely transition into independent life, right? With independent life comes a whole ton of independent health choices, so they might as well get options. I'm not saying that more cafeterias should sell cocaine in a la carte, but schools don't need to restrict their students' diets to rabbit food.

My school banned ketchup. It's best just not to dispute it. Schools will do stupid things--the American education system is far from perfection.
