This is absolutely SICK.

 

This beautiful 10 year old child hung herself because people were bullying her. Why kids and teens these days have to be SO mean that it drives other kids and teens to commit suicide is beyond me. As a girl who was a victim to bullying, it even went through my head a child. "If everyone hates me so much, why am I alive?", "Why do I exist? No one likes me.." And I really did think about hanging myself with one of my Dad's neckties. THIS IS SERIOUS. If you know someone being bullied, if you SEE someone being bullied, STEP UP!!! Step up as a decent human being, as a friend, as a good person and HELP that person being bullied because you never know if you'll ever see them again.

 

If you are a bully, STOP. If bullying other people really makes you feel superior and better about yourself, you have major issues and need to see a damn therapist or something. Get over yourself, go to school to get EDUCATED, and not make people's lives around you miserable just because you probably are.

 

As for me, I think the bullies should be sent to jail for MURDER. They drove these kids and teens and even adults to suicide. That's murder in my eyes. To be so indecent as to make someone end their own life is pretty much like pulling the trigger yourself. Want to teach them a lesson? Send them to REAL JAIL. Not juvvy, real jail were real murderers and criminals are. Because thats what they are. Murderers.

First of all, that is probably the nicest thing you have ever said to me. :'). Second, I did take it all the way, but there are varying levels of defense.

 

 

I think you need to take into account that she's very young. Although she may have heard of death or suicide, she may not have understood it well enough for her to think through her decision well. And just standing up to a bully isn't something someone can do by magic. People who are targeted by bullies usually have passive personalities, are shy and such, and don't have those social skills that will help them stand up to the bullies. For her to reach that point, she would need to learn those things. But when you have no friends, no teachers that help, and family members that don't understand how much trouble the bullies are causing, she has no chance to develop those skills. And many social skills just come with maturity as our brains develop.

 

She tried to get help. It didn't work which discouraged her from trying to get help from adults. That's why she tried the only other escape she could. It's sad, and even though I believe suicide is never the right choice, I understand why she did it. The fact that she had to resort to that is what's so disgusting about this. I don't blame her because she did take steps to seek help. But no one was listening.

 

You are indeed correct, and I have nothing against this girl. She did have extenuating circumstances, based off of her youth and lack of knowledge. But regardless, what kind of lunatic thinks about suicide at 10? And also, on a broader note, what about teens that take this same path? they have no excuse. Remember Pheobe Prince? Hung herself the same way. You must also take in the fact that these people are hurting their families. And if their families hate them, they are just helping the firetruckers! Suicide is selfish, and stupid. the people who do it think nothing over before hand, and if they do, then they must be insane to begin with!

But to say that there was already something wrong with her I highly doubt. But I bet her bullies think that. I bet they believed she was weak and deserved to be bullied. You do realize she DID go for help? Her mother said, "I knew it was going on, but I didn't know how to help" which means she just let it go.

This child got NO help from anybody. I do agree with Oishii. She probable didn't even know what suicide fully meant. She was probably just thinking, "It'll stop the bullying and pain" and just did it. Kids don't realize suicide is permanent. Sounds silly, but its true.

 

And no, they're not insane. You have NO RIGHT to say something so ignorant. You don't know these people and you have NO IDEA what they went through. That kind of pain lasts forever and it scars them, it haunts them, terrorizes them… So thats the only way they think they can get away from it.

 

Is suicide a little selfish? Yes, I think so. But do you think a 10 year old girl would know this? The only thing she was thinking about was an escape because she literally got harassed everyday of her life. You try taking that, see how you feel at the end of the day.

sure its easy to say whats wrong with this world and that you would stand up for this person but lets be honest its diffrent to say something then to do it I might say ill stand up for someone being bullyed but the sad truth is sometimes i am the one who is bullying. what im trying to say is its easyer just to do what everyone elce is doing rater then to do something elce

I am exhausting, lol. I never give up. And neither should anyone else. And if the boys had tried to fight her, that would have been the luckiest thing that could have happened. No teacher is going to respond to that with "Don't be a tattletale". My point, this whole time, has been one thing. Committing Suicide is admitting defeat. It is stupid and requires a weak personality. You have said it yourself, that she was weak because people made her, and because she was passive and shy. That proves my point. Only weak and stupid people commit suicide. Plain and simple.

Thats one way of dealing with bullying. I considered slitting my wrists once just to see what was so great about it, and I learned that fear is probably the second form of defense against self destruction. "This is probably going to hurt, so screw it", is a way to go about it.

Yeah, and that's what's wrong with kids today. They're all cowards. They have no balls, no guts, no decency to stand up for whats right. They just go with what everyone else is doing because it's "cool".. So, it's cool to drive someone to commit suicide. That's pretty much murder. Those bullies belong in jail or military school or boot camp. Teach them real discipline and respect.

 

And for the "followers", they're just as guilty because they did nothing to help. Instead, they're scared and hide behind. I have no patience or tolerance for that BS. If they want to be lowlife cowards, let them. They're only ruining our society even more. Real nice.

Razorwind was like this before... I used to bully people.. but times have changed. Poor girl, really wish she didn't get bullied around like that.

Hi, I'm Koko and as long as I can remember I've been bullied. And yes, I'm still bullied to this day. By my family and by strangers I don't even know. My family would constantly make fun of me to the point of crying and when I did cry they made fun of me even more. They made fun of me enough and scarred me enough that to this day I can't stand being with them and I have a resentment towards all of them because they thought it was so hilarious to humiliate me until I cried. My cousins would hit me and they would harass me and I would tell their parents and they would laugh and call me a wimp. Of course I thought about hitting them back, but I was a scrawny tiny little 6 or 7 year old and they were all YEARS older than me.

 

At school, it was just as bad. I don't remember a single day that I didn't come home crying from school because of how badly I was made fun of. People would call me fat and ugly, would tell me every day that no one liked me and no one loved me and that I didn't firetrucking deserve to be live. I was a waste of space and a waste of life. And I believed it.

 

When you're young, you're impressionable. If people treat you in a certain way and tell you certain things, you're going to believe them.

 

When I was 10, I was contemplating suicide. I would go to bed and cry till I fell asleep, thinking over and over 'Don't let me wake up. I wish I would die.'

 

I went to my parents and they didn't do anything. I went to teachers and they laughed in my face and told me to grow up and take a joke.

 

Middle school was just as bad. I tried to toughen up, I didn't cry every day, but people still talked badly behind my back, called me ugly, gave me ugly looks, pushed me in the halls. There were just points where I started crying in class because everything built up on me and I couldn't take it.

 

And guess what extremely intelligent thing I did. I cut. I cut for a month and I had 84 cuts on my left wrist. I remember because I counted over and over again. And I had even more on my legs.

 

Despite all that though, I'm okay now. I still have moments where I want to cut. I still have moments when I'm just seconds away from swallowing every pill in the medicine cabinet. I still have moments where I start sobbing uncontrollably.

 

See my point is, bullying doesn't just hurt you physically and emotionally.

 

It hurts you psychologically and it just stays with you.

 

Because of everything I went through, it's extremely hard for me to accept that anyone likes me and it's hard for me to take any compliments. I've also developed an abandonment issue due to my parents not doing anything about the hell I was going through when I was a kid.

 

Bullying, especially at a young age can affect you in the long run.

 

This girl was 10, and no one helped her, and I could of easily been the same as this girl and killed myself while I was 10. When you're that young and you feel alone, all you want to do is end the suffering, and maybe killing herself was the only way she could think of that would help her.

 

Not everyone is strong. Not everyone can pull through and tough it out. It's not that easy. If it wasn't for the fact that my best friend was by my side since 5th grade, the only person to ever stand up for me when I was bullied, I would of killed myself.

 

Does that make me weak? Yeah, probably. Do I want to be weak? firetrucking no. firetruck. No. Who would want to be weak after all? Especially in this sort of society. But guess what, sometimes people can break you down enough to be so weak.

 

Am I insane for considering suicide? No, I think I'm pretty sane. Maybe depressed (of course that's only online diagnosed since my parents refuse to get me ACTUALLY diagnosed), but I don't think that equals insanity.

 

Suicide isn't selfish. Suicide isn't cowardly. Suicide isn't weak. I don't think there's anything that could describe suicide. Suicide is the permanent solution to a temporary problem. It's an escape when you don't know what to do. It's something people are driven to. Something people are told to do even. Suicide is the last option when nothing else is offered to help you, whether you're bullied, abused or maybe have a extreme case of depression.

 

Bullying is a hate crime and it needs to stop. And not only do kids need to stop bullying, but adults need to take it more seriously and actually do something about it.
