Different Ways of Facing the Destiny

 

For generations, special people that were born with special powers, which were normally from the same family, were responsible for protecting the Nature, the Earth, and maintain the peace in this World. So far, they had been doing a great job so far.

 

The last one was Kile’s father. However, the ability of having these secret powers had to be a secret. This secret had to be kept until the special person has a son or a daughter, and so, when this child completes fourteen years, the special person before them has the obligation of telling them about everything.

 

However, Kile’s father -- a man named Joulie -- which was tall, strong, had blue eyes, and brown hair -- he had faced a big battle some years ago. He had defeated his brother -- a man named Ulises -- which was not so strong as Joulie, had blue eyes, and was shorter and younger than him. This battle had been one of the most violent of the history of the Chosen Ones -- the name given to people that are chosen to have these special powers.

 

In Joulie’s case, it was a very rare thing that had happened. Normally, only one person -- even if they have brothers or sister -- is chosen to have the special powers. But, in this case, both Ulises and Joulie were entrusted with magical powers. However, while one wanted to protect the Nature, the Earth and maintain the Peace, the other had been consumed by how strong these special powers were.

 

Ulises thought that by combining his powers with his brothers -- they both could control the World, and have everything they wanted. Money, women, and any and everything that this world could have to offer. However, as both of them had powers, the special powers were split up -- while their father had their combined power, each of them only got half of it.

 

Joulie was older, so when he completed fourteen years, his father came to inform him about everything -- the powers, the secret Kingdom of the Chosen Ones. But there was something wrong -- he had not earn all of his father’s powers. Because of that, his father thought that -- maybe, only by a small chance, like 2% -- his brother could earn the other half of powers, once he completed fourteen years.

 

And so, his idea was completely right. When Ulises completed fourteen years, he began to be able to do things that only the Chosen Ones were capable of. Ulises was very happy at first -- having these special powers were like a dream.

 

But that happiness would not last long. When Joulie completed twenty-four years, and his brother was with twenty years -- their father died because of a heart attack. Now, it was up to Ulises and Joulie to keep the peace in this World.

 

In one month, they went to the Chosen Ones’ Kingdom. Everything was so beautiful, and very calm. Joulie loved the place, but Ulises did not like as much as his brother did. For him, it was just an old and bothering place, where he would not have anything to do. And so, Ulises first raised his hands, and three monsters appeared in a forest, which was located in front of the Castle.

 

The monsters attacked the castle, but were easily and quickly destroyed by Ulises’ brother, Joulie. However, after this event, Joulie began to wonder about the monsters’ origin. If it was such a peaceful place, how did these monster appear in all of a sudden? With time, he began to join all the pieces and noticed that only magical powers could have created that. And, since his father had brought peace after defeating the King of the Darkness, and sealing him in another dimension twenty years ago, no monster had showed up ever since.

 

Ulises did not pretend anything when his brother came up asking if he had anything to do with the monsters’ appearance. He said “Yes, it was me. Just for fun, bro.”, with a smile in his face. He then decided to tell his brother about his true intentions.

 

He told him that together they could be unbeatable. They could have anything they have ever wanted in their lives. They would be feared by the entire humanity. No one would ever forget their names. His brother said that their duty was to protect the world, and not to take control over it! But Ulises kept saying that with their father dead, they had no one to force them to do anything -- they were free to do whatever they wanted with their powers.

 

Soon, a battle began between the two brothers. After one year of a long and slow conflict, Joulie finally managed to defeat his brother. He did not kill him, but made him prisoner in the castle. He left some men watching over his brother. And so, he returned to his home. With time, he met a beautiful, and shy woman, named Liliane.

 

After one year of staying together, they’ve decided to marry. One year after their marriage, they had a son. However, a very sad event happened when the baby was born. His mother had a complication during that time, and died of an illness. Joulie remained very sad, but he knew that he had a baby to create. His sadness never abandoned him, and it had passed over thirteen years now.

 

In one year, his son would finally complete fourteen years. Many surprises were awaiting for him. Joulie always ensured to make him follow his orders -- in a way of preventing that he could become something like Ulises once he found out about his special powers.

 

In one month, he would make fourteen years. How would Joulie tell his son about his magical powers, about his past, the Kingdom, and about everything? Would he have enough courage to tell him about everything, without hiding anything? And what about Ulises, what has happened with him during these years? Find the answer in the next chapter! Chapter 3.3 - Danger is near

 

“Just... a bit.... more.... Keep going....,” the voice said to Zack.

“Yes, sure. I want to talk about a lot of things with you,” Zack replied.

“Of course, boy... You’re almost there...,” the voice replied.

 

Then, Zack came across a strange door, which had a snake carved on it. The voice told him a way to open it; he needed to say just a few worlds.

 

‘Peritry Urto Reedof” -- these were the words needed to open the door.

Without any reaction, Zack pronounced the words and was surprised when the door opened in a few seconds after that.

 

“Good, my boy.... now you only need to ------” the voice was interrupted by a blue light that almost hurt Zack. Before the light appeared, Zack heard a voice, which said some weird words. It was his father, Joulie, who had run the quickest he could to help his boy.

 

“Zack, are you alright? I didn’t hurt you, did I?,” he said.

“No, dad... But it was close,” Zack replied.

“What were you doing here? This place is forbidden... You can’t come here anymore.” he said.

“Why, father? You have been acting strangely lately. I think you’ve been lying to me... For some unknown reason, I’m not sure if I can believe in what you say.”Zack asked.

“What? I’ve been telling you the truth... You’re the one acting weirdly... Why did you come here? You don’t even know how the castle is... Have you come here by accident? Or has something attracted you to this creepy place?” he replied.

“I came here.... by accident... I was just looking around... and then I got lost here...” Zack replied, with a tone that led his father be suspicious about if he were telling the truth or not.

“Is that so? Then can you please explain me how did you open that magical door?” he asked.

“I did...not... it was already opened....” Zack replied.

“Hm... I want you to go to your room, now!” he ordered.

“Fine...” Zack replied before going to his room.

 

“Seritry Urto Reedof’ -- Joulie said these words and the magical door closed in seconds, just like it had opened before.

 

As Zack was returning to his room, he passed through the kitchen, where Rita stood looking at him, and after he went out of the kitchen, she said “This boy is so strange... I’m not sure what to think about him.”

 

When Zack arrived in his room, he throw his shoes in the direction of the door, which meant that he was really angry. After all, he had almost arrived in the place where the voice asked him to go.

 

Rita was not the only person that worked in that enormous castle, there were three more people. Josephina, the one responsible for keeping the castle clean, Tyily, whose duty was to keep the garden beautiful, and Minut, whose job was to keep patrolling the inside and outside parts of the castle.

 

In the night, when Joulie went to his room, after having a long conversation with his son, in which Zack lied most of the time, he used a magic spell in his son’s room, which would warn him, if the boy left the room to go to the basement, once again.

 

However, the voice knew about his plans, and so it only called Zack, and told him to wait until the other day, when they would be able to talk, and maybe Zack would be able to free it once and for all.

Chapter 4 - Strange Events

 

In the next morning, Joulie decided to take his son to go around the forest, and see a bit more of this Kingdom.

 

The door that was the exit of the castle was really big, and only by saying magical words it would open or close. Of course that, if it were heavily attacked, it would last for some time, but not forever.

 

In the forest, there were trees of countless different kinds. There were some strange creatures too, but they all seemed to be inoffensive. However, there was a time, that when they stepped in one of the rare dangerous parts of the forest, some plants raised from the ground and attacked Zack.

 

He stayed really nervous. But, after ten seconds, his father used a magic called “Plantas Apocalypse”, which made the strange plants return to their normal habitat, the underground.

 

Some minutes after the plants’ attack, a giant creature, which resembled a normal bear, but with his size multiplied by 5, and carrying a sword, appeared. Joulie knew that it would be dangerous if Zack remained there, so he ordered his son to try to return to the castle, and them said that after defeating the “Oytuy”, as he called the creature, he would find and rescue him.

 

“Ok, father. Good Luck,” Zack replied before starting to run away.

 

 

However, things did not go so well as Zack had hoped. When he reached an area that was near the forest’s exit, the area was suddenly hit by a fire that came from the underground. And so Zack heard the voice once again.

 

“Hello boy.... Did you like the creature I sent to fight your dad?” the voice asked.

“No, he can get hurt. Why are you doing this?” Zack asked.

“Because I need to talk to you alone... That beast will buy us some time, and so will this fire.” the voice replied.

“So... what do you want to talk about?” Zack asked.

“You’re gonna go to... the basement.... tonight.... and.... you’ll free... me...” the voice said.

“Then will you be able to tell me why my dad has been so strange lately?” Zack asked.

“Of course... I’ll tell you much more than that... We’ll be able to talk for the entire eternity, if you desire.” the voice replied.

“But what if dad catches me again?” Zack asked.

“Do not worry... As you saw that beast and this fire here, you’ll …. see some surprises in the castle, as well.” the voice replied.

“But don’t hurt him, ok?” Zack asked.

“Yes, of course. I’d never... hurt... Joulie.... At 7:00pm, you’ll eat, and at 9:00pm, you’ll go ---” the voice was interrupted by an unknown reason, and Zack looked back, some water fell on him.

 

Joulie had defeated the beast and used a spell that uses water to destroy fire.

 

“Are you fine, dad?’ Zack asked.

“Yes, I am... And you?” Joulie asked.

“I’m fine too... Shouldn’t we head back to the castle?” Zack replied.

“Yes, it’s almost 1:00pm.” Joulie replied, and after doing so he started walking towards the castle.

 

Zack decided to take a nap from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, while his dad stayed thinking about what had happened. A creature like that could not have appeared from nowhere... and his son was still acting strangely... He kept wondering if some kind of evil plan was going to be put in practice.

Ah Ha! Take that, disembodied voice!

I can't wait for more this story is just amazing I love it!

Chapter 4.2 - Second Try

 

It was finally 7:00p.m., when Zack would eat, and wait for a while to go to the basement, and try to free the voice once again. But this time his father was starting to be suspicious after he defeated that creature in the forest.

 

Rita had prepared some strange food, which Zack had never eaten before, but even so he decided to eat a bit. He liked it and asked for more. Rita gladly made a bit more and Zack kept waiting for the right hour, which was 9:00p.m.

 

But, at 8:00p.m, Joulie went to his room and asked why he had been acting strangely. Zack replied that his dad was the one who had been strange since they arrived in this Kingdom. In the end, they had a discussion, and Joulie left his son’s room very furious.

 

“Don’t hide anything from me.” Joulie said.

“I’m not, but I can’t say the same about you.” he replied.

“Grrr.... Bye, Zack.” Joulie said before heading to his room.

 

It was 9:00p.m. The time had come for Zack to meet up with the strange voice that had been talking with him.

 

To get to the basement, he had to pass through the kitchen, where Rita saw him and hurried to tell Joulie that his son had once again gone to the basement.

 

However, as soon as she managed to tell him, and they arrived in the kitchen, the place was full of monsters. Joulie instructed Rita to run to a safe place while he would be taking care of that.

 

Meanwhile, Zack was almost arriving in the basement, unlike the first time he tried, when his father caught him, so he had not yet been to the basement. Joulie defeated four monsters, and managed to see his son near the basement, but before he could call his name, a giant monster carrying two knives appeared to prevent him from saving his son.

 

Finally, Zack arrived in the basement. It was a dark place, which seemed to not have been cleaned for years. It was abandoned, and it looked like no one had been there for a long time. The voice finally made contact with Zack again.
