Posted November 22, 201113 yr I just need thoughts, oath_keeper14 and I were discussing it and I am undecided on this, I've heard the many stories of it and how difficult it is to battle bugs and heartless....
November 22, 201113 yr Yeah, the levelling system isn't fun. But really KH Re:coded wasn't amazing. It was almost like one huge minigame rather than a proper game. I can imagine it being great for the phone, but making it on the DS platform made it seriously annoying to play. However I did love Olympus Coliseum and for that, I would say it's amazing. And the battle system isn't that hard when you get used to it.
December 7, 201113 yr Yeah, it isn't that bad, but not the best, either. Like 358/2 Days, it's needed to put the chip in order to level up... Particularly, I prefer the way we lvl up in KH1 and KH2 ;3
December 7, 201113 yr It's good because you can aways go back to noob level and have a higher/lower challenge
December 7, 201113 yr I'm happy Re:Coded has this kind of leveling system I love that I can try Roxas with Level 1. It's soo hard ^^
December 7, 201113 yr With the chips? Yeah, then you waste new abilities by filling that slot with a level up chip. Also, when you need the level-up, and you're in the heat of battle? Sucks.
December 8, 201113 yr I think the leveling system in this game is pretty stupid. Kingdom Hearts should stick to the old fashion way of leveling up.
December 9, 201113 yr I didn't mind it, but It takes forever to find the chips you need; I still can't find a Debug Y chip. Also, you can't take away chips if you use a space. With fine-tuning, it could be a good level-up system, but they should go back to the old level-up system so they could spend more time on the story and gameplay, especially since these side games seem to be getting shorter and shorter.
December 14, 201113 yr Not a fan of the fact that once you put a chip in, it was there for good, especially when new sectors opened up and I realised that rubbish chips were going to be doubled instead of better ones Much preferred 358/2 Days' system - you could constantly choose different panels to go in the grid / challenge yourself by not putting in level chips etc.

March 4, 201213 yr It's pretty much Days + BBS. I figured as much. Re:Coded is the only KH I have yet to play, but despite what everyone says about it being the worse one, I still plan on getting it... eventually.

In reality Re:Coded isn't actually a side game since it is the lead up to kh3d, unlike 358/2 days which I rank a side game.
March 4, 201213 yr I didn't like it the part where you have to replace the chip in order to change and not be able to remove it completely. I find that most annoying. But regardless of that, I think that the idea is pretty creative and has many possibilities. You can actually be level 1 but have Max stats and the ability to manipulate enemies is awesome such as reducing their Hp and making enemies harder. I don't think any of the series is a spin off entirely. I think you could say they're spin off gameplay-wise but story-wise I don't think so. But the idea is that, they actually made an entire game just to say Xehanort is coming back and people are hurting (re:coded) which could be implemented in the first few scenes in KH3D.
March 5, 201213 yr my problem was trying to get the trophy where you beat each world at level 17 or under, but i had like 40 other chips that i couldn't remove, other than that didn't mind it
March 6, 201213 yr In reality Re:Coded isn't actually a side game since it is the lead up to kh3d, unlike 358/2 days which I rank a side game. By side game I meant games that's on handhelds or every game except KH1 and KH2. When I said that the side games seem to be getting shorter and shorter, I meant that even KH3D seems to have only 6-7 playable worlds.

Um kh 1 only had a small number of worlds too you know and how could you call all portable kh games small? BBS was actually longer than kh2 in terms of time played and I would definitely call 358/2 days and Re:coded small. Oh and if BBS is anything to go by then 3D will probably be even longer in terms of gameplay. The no. of worlds don't matter at all in terms of hours of gameplay.
March 6, 201213 yr I actually liked this leveling system as it provided more freedom and customization.... I can see why so many people don't like it though.
