Guys, really, if there's someone you are really close, spend most of the time you can with them. Follow this, and you might see that when you no longer can stay with them -- all the fun you had, the time you spent -- it was worth and awesome.
I really approve that sentence that says 'If you've never lost anyone very close to you, you won't know the feeling.'
As some of you know, I've lost my great grandfather on December 29th... He was really close to us...
He was like a dad to me, since my parents are divorced, I rarely see my real dad..
His name was Edgard, he was 85 years old -- He would complete 86 on January 9th...
He came to our house three times per week [Monday, Wednesday and Friday]. We had dinner together. And on some Saturdays he came to have lunch with us. We were a happy small family -- He, me, mom and grandmom.
He started having health problems on December 12th -- he fell and fainted on the ground. Some good people helped him and calles us and his wife [not my grandmom's mom, another woman which he's been together for 27 years].
Then, he fainted again on December 14th... He couldn't go to my graduation on December 15th... So my dad went on his place.. My grandmother was taking care of him -- he lived in a hotel, so she went there every day and had lunch with him, and then later we had dinner together. His wife left him with my grandmom on December 16th, when she went to live in a friend's house for a while. She said she was having depression.
On December 24th, at night, we were bringing him to the hotel -- he almost fainted, but we were there to help him out -- so he didn't fall on the ground. And so, on December 26th, he and my grandmom went to a doctor.
She said that he was very anxious, and so she gave some medicine to make him calm down a bit. She also said that if he fainted again, then it'd probably mean that it was some problem with his head...
On December 29th, he fell on the street, had a principle of heart attack, but a guy rescued him. We went to the hospital -- he was strange, couldn't talk very well, and kept asking where we were going to.
We stood on the hospital waiting for 2 hours, and then the doctor came and told everything to my grandmom -- That he had a serious heart attack, and they weren't able to 'revive' him...
At that moment, we felt a deep sadness -- My grandmom's birthday was on December 25th, and on the 24th, he told her that he would not last long... We had a happy Christmas together -- the last one..
On December 30th, it was the funeral. I had to be strong for my grandmom and mom.. I didn't cry -- just one time when I really couldn't hold it anymore... But on the 29th I cried so much... I was and I still am pretty sad, and probably will be for a long time...
It's been hard -- we didn't celebrate New Year as we were going to -- lost all the spirit when he died. So we're going through a hard time.
Thanks for hearing. I needed to tell it to someone.
Edgard Trajano - 1926-2011 --> I've always loved you and I'll always remember you. When you left us, it was like a piece of my heart broke and disappeared... You were an excellent great grandad I'll miss you forever!
