February 4, 201213 yr Author I....didn't know we hated U. o-o; Well you do. You remove it from words like "favourite", "colour" etc.
February 4, 201213 yr Well you do. You remove it from words like "favourite", "colour" etc. Oh that. Not sure why we do that............we're dumb, the less letters the better. ouo
February 4, 201213 yr Oh that. Not sure why we do that............we're dumb, the less letters the better. ouo Ahahahaah
February 4, 201213 yr Popular Post Well you do. You remove it from words like "favourite", "colour" etc. The question is, "Why do you add the letter U to words that don't need it?".
February 4, 201213 yr Author The question is, "Why do you add the letter U to words that don't need it?". We don't. English (UK) was written before English (US).
February 4, 201213 yr The question is, "Why do you add the letter U to words that don't need it?". Also, the British, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Australian, New Zealander and Canadian all use the letter 'u' for favourite, colour, honour, ect. Seven against one. We win.
February 4, 201213 yr Author Also, the British, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Australian, New Zealander and Canadian all use the letter 'u' for favourite, colour, honour, ect. Seven against one. We win. This be correct!
February 4, 201213 yr we have U in the usa and people are so dumb these days they leave poor u on the sidelines but we still like it well i do at least.
February 4, 201213 yr "Our life is frittered away by detail... Simplify, simplify, simplify!" ~Henry Thoreau Thats why
February 4, 201213 yr Also, the British, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Australian, New Zealander and Canadian all use the letter 'u' for favourite, colour, honour, ect. Seven against one. We win. Seriously? That's awesome! Now I feel special about not usin' dem extra u's! They look weird in those words anyway.
February 4, 201213 yr It's because it's a British / English thing to use the letter 'u' in those words. That's why places like Canada and Australia with closer ties to Britain do this while places like the U.S.A don't.
February 4, 201213 yr i use u in words like colour and etc because it looks pretty. its correct both ways in the us
February 4, 201213 yr Still means the same exact thing so does really it matter that we don't have "u" in some of the spellings? It's kind of like asking why Americans call lifts elevators and other countries call elevators lifts. Means the same thing just different way of saying it.
February 4, 201213 yr Then again, the British use "kerb" for "curb" and call crosswalks "zebra crossings". I think U is the least of the trouble here.
February 4, 201213 yr Author Seriously? That's awesome! Now I feel special about not usin' dem extra u's! They look weird in those words anyway. I prefer them with the "U" like most people do.
February 5, 201213 yr I prefer them with the "U" like most people do. Then....good... for u? I don't see the big deal, it's just a letter; so we don't use them in those words and we don't the metric system, or use celsius and whatever else makes us weird. Biiiiig diddly deal. cX
February 5, 201213 yr I guess this is a gang up on America thread http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png
February 5, 201213 yr I guess this is a gang up on America thread http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png Nah, I see it more like a, "Y U SO WEIRD AMERICA!? thread" We just iz, so sorry about that world.
February 5, 201213 yr Nah, I see it more like a, "Y U SO WEIRD AMERICA!?" We just iz, so sorry about that world. Oh well different is good USA ftw.
February 5, 201213 yr Because unlike all of you we want to spend less time remembering long words so by taking out the U we save more time and get on with our lives. Deal With It.
February 6, 201213 yr We became an independant country when we fought off England's hold on us. K? K.
Why U Americans don't like the letter U?
