Continued from the Antagonist, Let's talk about the protagonists. I'm very curious.

 

I actually like Bartz due to his carefree personality, not to mention he flirts with women on occasion, such as Faris as he first sees her in a princess gown in Final Fantasy V.

 

Second ranking would have to be....Zidane. Does he need a reason to help anyone?

I also like Kain Highwind (FFIV) and Luneth (FFIIIDS).

I like Lightning, because she highly develops her character throughout the story. She starts off as an over-protective beyotch, but eventually becomes alot nicer and understanding.

Cloud and Leon for me

Cloud is the most popular. My favourite is Zack, if you consider him a main protagonist, if not then Tidus.

I prefer Squall,he's so badass and I like his rivalry with Seifer,the opening scene and the 3 boss fight against him were epic to me.In 2nd I dont know who I prefer between Zack and Cloud,I think I prefer Zack,but I couldn't say for sure.

Normally I'd say Cloud, but...

 

Lightning has lots of momentum right now. I personally love her (although we all know that Hope is the real hero of the game). In Dissidia she's great too.

 

And the way she kicks butt... I'd take her any day!

 

I really like Squall too though

I pick Cloud becuase I've always liked him since KH1, which was years before I even touched a FF game.

I played only 4 and 3 so my favourite is Cecil because those four kids from 3 were emotionless IMO...ANnd Cecil is pretty good character if you ask me...

Zack he's pretty awesome he is the acutal meaning of the word HERO, he always is somehow smiling.

 

Cloud is sorda my video game role model he was able to live after Zack died but never (okay maybe a little bit) forgot Zack.

 

But i like all of them they are all so awesome

Vaan wasn't the protagonist of FFXII. I'd say Ashe, or Basch, or even Balthier. Vaan was just the person through who's eyes we were seeing everything (he was useless).
