What should I read?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to decide what book series I should read over summer since I'm pretty much done with my school reading. I'm thinking about reading either Lord of the Rings or Dragonlance. If you have any other choices pleas inform me if you know any other good series. I've already read Harry Potter, a Series of Unfortunate Events, the City of Ember, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

I actually don't really read series... umm...

The Assassin's Creed series is really good. It retells the stories, but there's a lot of additional backstory and side things as well that aren't in the games (but they're still canon!). Parasite Eve's my fav, and it's long, ut I doubt you coauld find it laying around somewhere. Everything else is Doctor Who or Shakespeare.

'The Hunger Games', 'Lord of the Rings', 'The Sight' (David Clement-Davies), 'Fell' (sequel), 'The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness' (by Michelle Paver, it's my favourite book series ever <3), 'Narnia' series... I've yet to read Hunger Games but it looks good so figured I'd suggest it.

if you like fantasy/supernatural-themed series, you should definitely read the Haruhi Suzumiya series (the novels, not the manga or the animu).

I'd also recommend Brave Story. It isn't a series (sadly), but it's almost 1,000 pages so it should last you a while.

do u see how everyone is recommending the hunger games? Yeah, just go ahead and read them ;D they are great books. And I don't know what you like to read but if you're into fantasy, I'd recommended The sevenwaters trilogy. And if u want a a decent vampire book, go read Sunshine by Robin McKinley. And just so you know, Sunshine has nothing to do with the twilight series. :P

Dean Koontz has a series called "Odd Thomas" thats very good. There is also "The Dresden Files" series by Jim Butcher. Its pretty long, but I just borrow them from the library so I dont have to buy them all. Those are also worth reading. You could also read "Game of Thrones" books but youll have to wait 5 years for the last book to come out.

The eragon series are good. Try reading some Stephen King, his books are always a thrill. The shining, and the stand are my fave.

That is also a good book, and Stephen King is writing a sequel for it. You could read it now and then get the sequel when it comes out.

There's a trilogy of books by chilean writer Isabel Allende which I read a while ago. It is interesting, specially if you seek for some modern fantasy. The books are:

-City of the Beasts........nice book.

-Kingdom of the Golden Dragon.......for me, the best of the three.

-Forest of the Pygmies......the least I liked.

I think the trilogy is called "The Memories of the Eagle and the Jaguar"
