Okay, this is just personal opinion. But I wanted to see if anyone else agreed.

Does anyone feel like Donald is basically dead weight during pretty much the whole beginning half of the game? I mean really, when I played Kingdom Hearts I felt like Donald was all but useless except when it came to having him be bait for the heartless (the perfect distraction I swear xD) or when he actually HIT something with magic.

I honestly feel like he didn't become useful until he learned some stronger forms of magic and Cure. Then I was like "DONALD! :D I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE SO USEFUL NOW!"

Long story short, did Donald only become useful towards the very end of the game or do you think he had his moments throughout?

Ever since I watched Slyfox, Donald and Goofy are now Dolan and Gooby.

Donald seemed rather worse than that to me, he was rather prone to cast the exact wrong spell all the friggin' time, and then die. It was really bad in Re:CoM in which I would summon him against, say casting 3x Firaga on a room full of Red Nocturnes. Especially when I was on my last bit of health. I didn't much like him in any of the games honestly, and sometimes just de-equipped all his magic except cure.

At the beggining, he was fodder for Heartless.

When he learned Cure, he became a lot better.

Well Donald heals you so he isn't useless

I only loved him when he cast Cure on me :P

Donald always cured me at the perfect times and cast Aero on me. Luv that duck

Exactly XDI tried not to replace him (no matter HOW much I wanted to) because I was afraid if I didn't attempt to level him up in any way he would only be even more pathetic in the worlds to come.

Uh, you know that even if they aren't in your current party, all of your party members level up anyway. Thats why most of them always have a Level close to yours and Donald and Goofy's when you are given the option to switch Goofy or Donald for the main ally of that certain world.

Yeah, I didn't really pay much attention to Donald or Goofy in the earlier parts of the game while fighting. They are great and memorable in the cutscenes, but not so much the gameplay. Still, I never switch them out for anybody else, since the game just isn't the same without them at your side.

Well I feel stupid now...sigh.

Donald's only job is to cure.

Which he fails most of the time

Goofy was my favorite he attacked with a sheild roflmao I found him hallerious.

Plus he said "POYO!" whenever he got damaged.

:P

Donald has the potental to be great but he dies to easily and always heals you just as you heal yourself, his spells kick ass all the same, he was way better in 2 as well :3

Donald can be pretty useless but when he does do something, it's usually something good for you.

I think he was pretty useful with thunder and fire spells.

I hated Donald in the beginning of the game. And when we went to Tarzan world and Donald crashed the ship I was like "YOU LITTLE TURD" and switched him out for Tarzan. But then I needed him for the dang trinities -_-
