Which Game In This Series Has the Best Magic System?

Posted

I think that the original had the best magic system cuz, even though there wasnt a refill ability where it filled up, i never really ran out. I didnt really like the KH2 system cuz it could refill and that kinda took away from the challenge for me and i didnt like how Curaga took your whol magic.BBS i didnt really mind cuz i like the command system. COM was probably the hardest to fight in, in my opinion, cuz if you just messed up once the you could lose that card for the rest of the fight, but i liked COM. I also liked how hitting filled your magic in KH and how no magic used up a whole lot of magic power

BBS is the only game where I actually used magic every 10 seconds. So I'm going with BBS.

BBS

Beyond a shadow of a doubt.

In the other games, I only used magic for Cura sake. But in BBS--I actually used magic, and loved it!

Actually, it took all of your available magic, so, if you so chose to, you could use your magic till you were nearly empty, then heal yourself :3

100% accurate.

I loved them all, but BBS was easiest to use. Although magic looked the coolest in kh2. I would love to say a bit about kh3d, but I haven't played that yet. Still have a month and a half to wait.

Surprisingly I say Days because it gave you a challenge / limit to how much magic you can use so you can't just spam cure as much as you like

Kingdom Hearts: Re: Chain of Memories

I liked it because your magic is limited and you can't spam powerful spells, and you lose your cards in Sleights. It made the game more challenging.

I think kh1 but the magic in 358 sucked

I'm not sure if BBS can really count, because... it didn't really HAVE a magic system. Spells were just treated like any other ability in your command deck. The last game to use a "Magic" system, was probably Days.

That being said, I wasn't big on any of their magic systems. KH1 was too punishing, especially when it came to refilling it (especially during harder bosses). KH2's was too easy, but so was the rest of the game. All of the spells were useless anyway, except for Cure anf Reflect. Days' sucked. And much like the later games, CoM's magic system was really just integrated into the main combat system.

None of the games have really been able to nail it.

KHI or Days. They both provided challenge. I agree with baylaust on BbS(/Re:coded/DDD). That's not really a magic system, as the magic is mixed in with the rest of the skills.
