How would you feel about a game console that blocked you from playing used games?

It doesn't seem nice, but I dunno if it'd affect me at the point of preventing me from buying the system...

I wouldn't like that. If it was like that for the 3ds, then I could never have played twewy, which is only available pre-owned at GameStop.

I don't buy used games. I typically pre-order in the first place. I would rather pay the company that gave me the game that I love.

I wouldn't buy the console. I'm so broke right now, I can't even buy used games. But when I buy a game, I always buy it used.

I buy most of my games new anyway, but honestly, this whole war against used games is a load of crap, and is all about game companies being greedy. Up to a certain point I can understand them, how they don't like people buying games and them not getting payed for it, but guess what? Not everybody can afford a brand new game, so why should they be punished for that, whether it be through locking away online, or restricting certain features? Besides, the game has already been bought by someone once, so if someone else gets it, you can still get money from them through DLC and stuff.

Just my opinion.

I'd be pissed. xD

Well I wouldn't like it actually most of my favorite games are pre-owned. Soo...... I don't like this idea at all.

Why would they even do that? It would be so much harder to find good games plus game stores wouldnt like it either since a large bit of their profit is from selling used games. I wouldnt ever buy a console like that unless a KH game was released for it and even then I would do it very unhappily.

That's being greedy. There is no possible way to downplay it except to come out and say it was being greedy.

that would be stupid

When games become older, all you can find in retail stores are used versions. Or if your game breaks/ceases to function, all you can do is get a used copy. I wouldn't say I would never buy that console, but that would be pretty disappointing.

I wouldn't buy it. Any games I would buy for such a console would be considered 'used' to any new one I'd use to replace the console if it broke. It isn't worth it.

the prices would have to drop at least by 15 dollars for me to even consider it because the resale value has been reduced to nothing.

What happens, happens. You should purchase new games anyway to keep your console in better condition. If you can't find the game new in your stores then look online.

I wouldn't buy it. Most of the time, I find out about good games a few years after their release. Chances are, that game has become impossible to find new. Lets take Tales of Vesperia for example. I have never seen it in a common retail store. The only place I could find it was in GameStop, used. I wouldn't have been able to play that game ever if I was unable to play used games.

What if I buy the console at the end of its life span? Plenty of games from the beginning of its life may then be hard to find new. Then take into account that, eventually, those games will never be sold new again. If you buy a Nintendo 64 from eBay, will you be able to find new games for that? No, unless someone happens to be selling a sealed copy.

While I understand that used games can hurt developers, preventing used games from being play will only serve to hurt everyone involved in the console.

I never buy used games anyway :U But it would suck for people who do buy them

I buy all of my games new, so I wouldn't really care. It seems like that could really hurt businesses like Gamestop though, which I guess is not a very good thing. :(

Plus what if I couldn't want the game I want brand new. I guess whatever happens will be fine with me, it has it's positives and negatives.

bomb the idiot that thought it was good idea? and i would be angry VERY VERY FREAKIN ANGRY...

Wouldn't bother me too much because I don't buy used games anyway

In my near 50 years of gaming, I have only bought 1 used game, and that was in December(the game was a couple years old). So it wouldn't matter to me.

How would they like to be punched in the gut? Mine's the same answer.

lol no, that is just plain greedy =/ We consumers have the right to buy used items!!

Hell to the no.

If they did this it would be for an online only console.... so you could buy 'old' games (as long as its on the server) or stream them, whatever. I don't like this idea, especially for a console that doesn't require internet... but it could possibly work in ten years time, just not with our current internet infrastructure.

I know I wouldn't like it. Sometimes it is easier to buy used games depending on when you found the series. My KH1 game is a used one and it would be horrible if I couldn't play it.
