I've played that game so many times, but I've never picked up on all the symbolism you described in the opening O.o

you putting it on YouTube? if so what's your channel? you are not amazing at commentary, but well nobody is, i am up for watching any NEW gameplay commentary walk through? i will watch almost anybody do it if it is new, and well i already watch YouTube commentaries and KH is the best series ever, i would love to watch, i am sick 24/7 so it will give me something to do.

 

Also, nobody got that symbolism? i don't see how you can miss it? it is so easy, my 2nd or 3rd playthrough of a Kingdom Hearts game, i pay extra attention to fine EVERY piece of symbolism, because i find it important. i don't know how everyone seems to not see at least 20% of what i see? It's so obvious to me, but every Kingdom Hearts game is like 10 times more important than any other to me, no matter how many times i have beat each Kingdom Hearts game, which is around 10 times per game minimum, and on my 4th for KH3D

The Kingdom Hearts universe is so filled with frenetic yet joyous randomness, you just kind of forget to even look for any symbolism; it can be boggling to put two and two together.

Symbolism is just harder for different people, like my friend in the video, I'm in the same boat as you, where it seems very clear to me (Which is a massive pain in my English class in university, everybody expects tonnes of praise for every skin deep meaning they find)

I think the problem is that most people do not actually look for symbolism, especially in the west which doesn't actually use much to any symbolism in literature. The japanese do it quite a bit, so it's best to keep the eyes and mind peeled for them in many of their games, books, movies, etc. But it is hard for many to catch symbolism even when looking for it, or just see it in places where it doesn't exist. I try to put it in my stories when I write fairly often.

Anyway, decent commentary. For anyone saying it's not good, try it yourself. It's not the easiest thing to do. lol So props.

I saw all does symbolism in the opening except for the most obvious one-that wave representing darkness..lol
