I read Marvel and DC books, sometimes manga, and i really like to read fantasy and science fiction books, what kind of books do you read and what do you think of my taste in books

Featured Replies

I just finished 50 Shades of Grey

Now I'm reading the Night Angel Trilogy

Before that I was reading Point Horror Novels, and things like The Mediator, Alice in Wonderland, How Could She? and I frequently drift in and out of different mangas (I've no money so it really depends on if i'm comfortable sitting at a pc for a while reading).

I'd be more inclined towards manga than marvel or DC, but I do have some merchandise of them.

Manga, fantasy, science fiction, slice of life and sometimes romance, when it's is a subplot.

I read:

Fantasy

Adventure

Sci-Fi

Old westerns

Some non-fictions

And some old-school comics.

I think yours are pretty good. Everyone has a particular thing they like to read. :)

You will most likely find me reading Sci-Fi or Fantasy :3

Maybe even romance.

I mostly read mangas, though

Books?

Only if they're assigned to me through school.

I'm a big sucker for the action/adventure genres.

I only read manga. I have a big old bookshelf on my wall full of them.

Mostly battle manga, but I like some other kinds like

Bakuman

Durarara!!

Death Note

Manga, Fantasy, and Science Fiction. I really only read nonfiction when assigned at school, and honestly, I feel like the only 13 year old who reads. -.- atleast where I live.

Deadpool comic's, they are hilarious xD and also some Manga with action in it (Naruto, Gurren Lagann, ect)

Fantasy and Manga.

I'm also very curious about that 50 Shades of Gray book...

I read a lot but nothing really specific, just a bit everything I suppose.

If you like Twilight, it's your kind of book. Consider this a warning.

Action Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi, and Marvel / DC stuff appeals to me. I've read a manga too, before.

I not only read fantasy and sci-fi, I write fantasy and sci-fi as well. I've got 2 e-books for sale on Amazon.com called The Sapphire Desire and Project: Death Cat, with Project: Death Cat 2 coming out in either late December or early January. A majority of fantasy and sci-fi I read these days are by independent authors on Amazon.com. Everyone has a story to write. Some are good, some aren't as good.

A manga? Damn, I need to get you reading more.

Well you know, the typical young adult fiction books. Usually sci-fi/fantasy. or anything distopian. Or relating to Hitler. (WWII is seriously, the best genre ever.)

Fro example

Harry Potter

The Boy Who Dared

Percy Jackson

Hunger Games

Kingdom Keepers

Matched

Hitler Youth

I read that Michael Vey book, Prisoner of Cell 25... that was okay...

Sophie School

I Mostly Read Romance Books About Vamps Wolfs Angles And Fairies I Also Read Super Hero Comics And Many Diffrent Kinds Of Manga

Uh, really creepy and action adventure manga, like Death Note, Naruto, Bleach, but I sometimes read Romance/Comedy manga such as Rosario+Vampire.

I'm in to the really good Star Wars EU stuff right now, and I suggest the Thrawn trilogy and New Jedi Order. Jacen Solo, Anakin Solo and Mara Jade is a great characters.

Others I've read and loved are

Harry Potter, (duh.)

Percy Jackson

Artemis Fowl

Wolf Hunter saga. (Kind of interesting.)

All the classic, bizarre cool stuff. (Alice in Wonderland, Catcher in the Rye etc.)

Noticing people listing genres and including manga in the list. Since when is manga its own genre? Style, I understand, but its in no way a genre.

But I like action, adventure, drama, sci-fi, and some mystery. Ex: Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Naruto, Code Geass, KHR....

I like some non fiction if its something I'm kinda interested in, like nutrition, or astronomy, or something. Its kinda like when you find yourself randomly reading wiki articles. xD

For fiction, I prefer mysteries and thrillers. I dont really go into the YA section anymore. I occasionally read an old, classic novel. Knowing who Emerson is is a good way to impress your English teachers.

And then I read nonfiction stuff that interests me. Like mythology, obviously. I also read some Buddhist stuff like the Tripitaka, being religious and all.

And zombies. They are a genre of their own.

Manga, sci-fi,rarely non-fiction, and fiction :3

(Diaty of a wimpy kid, naruto, The alchemyst) Yes i can read a 300 page book http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png and understand the words.

300 pages is not very hard at all. ANYWAYS, I'm curious of 'The Alchemist.' What's it about? (Aside from alchemy I mean a bit in detail.) After watching Fullmetal Alchemist I got really interested into real life alchemy and chemistry.

just search it up on amazon or wikipedia, they made like 4 or more books of the series bro. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png

I think it depends on the qualities that you like about the books you mentioned. For me I like realistic characters that are placed in a slightly unrealistic world, whether it be futuristic or fantasy based. I mostly read fantasy/adventure, and a little bit of sci-fi, but I'm not incredibly into the genre myself.

One of my favorite trilogies was The Healing Wars. It reminded me a bit of Final Fantasy, actually, and was a pretty interesting read. A few other favorites of mine were Harry Potter and Fablehaven. I also recently read a novel called Across the Universe which I really enjoyed despite my wavering interest in sci-fi.

It might just be me, but I've noticed a huge difference in writing style and content from MG, YA and adult fiction, has anyone else? I tend to prefer MG novels, surprisingly, since the plots are more balanced and the characters have more substance. Of course this isn't always the case, though.

Good luck finding some good books!
