Disclaimer: I shall say this first; I'm not going to be reviewing every single episode, in case anyone cared. I intended to only review just the very first one. This is all straight from my head. No editing afterwards, just so you know my exact thoughts.

With that small disclaimer out of the way, let's break this down while the episode is still fresh in my mind. As some may know, I have given some pretty harsh criticism about the Yellow trailer, mainly about the voice acting. We'll get to my thoughts about that later, but let's begin with the story.

The little myth in the beginning, explaining the creation of man and the concept of Dust was quite interesting. Maybe I missed it from my pure excitement, but I wish they would have expanded more about how people were created from dust, like if there were any kind of gods that existed in that world. Simply saying "They came to existence one day" isn't enough for me. Perhaps they will save that for later episodes, so I will not think too much for now. Speaking of the stuff that gathers on my old magazines, they did a great job about heightening everyone's curiosity (or at least I assume) about the Dust crystals. The first episode of anything, really, is meant to draw in an audience and get them to want more, and just that concept did the job.

As well, they introduced some of these characters quite well, I must say. We knew nothing about Ruby's character, aside from what was suggested from her voice in the Yellow trailer (again, I'll get to that soon). Here, we see clearly what she's like; she's very energetic. I know that's putting it bluntly, but that's the first thing that came to my mind when she was speaking to that, and I couldn't use another word that would be better. Perhaps bubbliy, maybe? The point is, the team who worked on RWBY did a great job with not only showing the personalities of Ruby, but the other characters as well.

The voice acting was also spot on. I still think the voices in the Yellow trailer sound kinda iffy (especially Ruby's voice), so I'm so glad my worries were put to a rest. Everyone did an amazing job with their roles. The action, as well, was just as I thought it would be; very flashy, yet awesome to watch. Even in just a few minutes, my mouth dropped from the fighting scenes, and I throughly enjoyed the story parts of the episode as well. I want to learn more, and I will now follow this series without another drop of worry. Monty, or if anyone from the RWBY team sees this, you have done a very great job. We all appreciate your hard work.

P.S. If you get Egoraptor to voice one of the characters, I will love you guys forever.

I was kind of hoping it would be darker than it turned out to be.  The bubbly music, slightly cliche interaction between Ruby and Yang, and the basic plot made me go, "Man! This is just another 'We're going to school to become Wizards/Hunters/Vampires/Some other supernatural hero!'"  I'll still watch it if I remember, but it's a real turn-off to me.

i don't know why it attracts me, it just really appeals to me somehow

I can see why you did. The characters seem to be fitting to there looks, voice acting is decent, the story seems to give a note worthy foundation.

The script has nice flow, and entertaining.

I am just quite persnickety.

Lol you sound like Lee's friends when she showed them RWBY. Lee likes RWBY for well....it's mystery! You never expect what to come! Like with the hidden pic of Weiss, Blake, and Yang. At first Lee thought Weiss would have a fan, Blake would have a whip, and Yang would be like a knight. But boy was she wrong! Lee likes it that way, it makes the series fun :3
