Just think about it. What if Kingdom Hearts never went to Nintendo handhelds and always remained on a Sony platform?

 

Edit: Also Sony handhelds like the Psp and Vita.

Gonna say it now. I'd like this. I wouldn't have to keep buying new systems for each game then.

 

Edit: I misread part of this. If it NEVER went to nintendo then I probably wouldn't have gotten into the series as much as I did. Probably less since Days is what got me really got into it.

the games would take longer, cause dev. for a console is longer than a handheld like the DS and PSP, so we be at around 3D coming soon as a guess if it really did.

I probably would never have discovered the series, and wouldn't be on this site today.

Woops, I men't to put handhelds as well. But yeah It would take longer for them to make, I'm curious as to how Days and Re:Coded would work on the Psp or something.

I'm gonna say it.... Why didn't they stay on one console?! I've had to buy 4 stinkin' game systems just to play all the games! I dunno which drunk japenese man came up with such a terrible marketing plan *cough*Nomura*cough* Anyway All I can say is that I will be pretty mad if KH3 comes out for ps4.

I don't think i would keep up with the series owo.

I like Nintendo's handhelds more than I like Sony consoles... at least right now.

I wouldn't be too fond of KH installments on the PS(whatever is new at the time)

and if I purchased it I wouldn't do much with it besides play certain games

like my PS3 that's been sitting around doing nothing

We would never know the combat systems from today in KH.

How did Days get you into it? I mean the story was nice but.....I don't know. Unless it was your first KH game then I would understand. I would have liked it if it just stuck to Sony. Since I could be alright with KH, KH2,Rechain, BBS and of course their Final Mixees . I could care less about Days or ReCoded. My only regret is DDD but hey more pros than cons and KH3(in my opinon) will come out for a Sony Console. Plus, I would save money on not buying a DS

It was my third kh game and as with coded and com some people like days, some people luv it and others hate it I actually liked it so it got me into the series more.

Re:COM would be COM, Days would have LONGER repetitive missions, BBS would be on PS2(thanks Re:COM), Re:Coded would be Coded(the story is somehow extended), KH3D would probably be the first PS3 game.

Well, Nomura did say he wanted to unify the series so each game isn't on a different system. This is why I think they will eventually become multi platform, thought it might take a few years. Obviously HD 1.5 is only on ps3, but wii u has too small of a user base right now for a release to really make sense (though it would certainly benefit the system).

 

HD 2.5 (if it comes out, and yes it probably will) will probably also be on ps3, with the possibility of a wii u version as well. By the time 2.5 will come out (most likely a year to a year and a half from now) the wii u will have picked up its install base due to more games, specifically the new mario's as well as wind waker hd and other games. This is why I can definitely see the possibility of a wii u version of HD 2.5. I don't really see it coming to ps4, seeing as similar to the wii u, it will have a small install base having been out for a few months to a year (though most likely larger than the wii u install base). 

 

Past these, moving onto (hopefully) KH3, if the rumors are true that FF Versus XIII has been moved to PS4, then KH3, will be on PS4. Maybe if it releases by 2015, there will be a PS3 version as well seeing as the video output is likely to be the same (even though PS4 will probably support 4K output, but who has $60,000 for a TV!!!) I say by 2015 because sony released a statement several months ago stating that they will guarantee support of the ps3 and games for it through 2015. Past this, it will probably only see sports and hobby games, similar to ps2 which still had sports games in 2011 and 2012. By this point, the Wii U should also be in a much better state, seeing that there will have been a new mario, mario kart, smash bros, wind waker hd, and brand new HD zelda (thats enough to get me to buy the system at least), so I could see this being a multiplatform game as well. 

 

For the future of the series beyond KH3, after the Xehanort saga is over. This is where I can't even really predict what will happen. More "numbered" games on consoles, hopefully multi platform, so PS4 and Wii U. But as far as any side games that previously went to handhelds, I just don't know. Vita and 3DS are so different, it would be a huge challenge to create games to work the same on both, as each system has very specific features that are utilized by each game. Also, unless the Vita picks up in sales, I don't see it being a huge attraction for KH games. PSP was a popular system and got one KH game. The DS was more popular and got 2, followed by another for 3DS. The 3DS is absolutely dominating the Vita right now. And based on the games coming to each system this year, it looks like the 3DS will continue to shine, while the vita continues to struggle. This is why I have a hard time predicting the future of side games in the KH series, Nomura really wants to break away from exclusives, but for the handhelds, he will have a hard time of it. 

If they hadn't ever been introduced to Nintendo, I never would've played any of the games in the series.  And that's a very sad concept indeed.

My first reason of buying the 3DS is for KH3D, and if what u said happened, I wouldn't play Resident Evil Revelations or The Mercenaries 3D.

Hahaha nice, but I don't think Days would have longer repetitive missions. Especially since they wouldn't have to worry about very limited graphics and space issues.
