Whatever you believe, the final scene in Korra was Korra and Asami going on a vacation together, alone and looked they were about to kiss. That's your final Korra scene weather you like it or not.

Anyway, It makes me happy and sad at the same time.

 

Happy because it's the only cartoon I've ever followed and everything I want happens in it and I don't have a single regret.

 

Sad because it ended...same way I was sad because TLA ended....

While I admit the message that the ending was meant to be taken the way it was presented, I still see it as a friendship thing. I don't agree with those lifestyles and I don't think blurting that kind of thing in show would ever happen anyway.

Doesn't matter what he shared, I'm allowed to interpret this ending in anyway that I personally see fit, and while the implications are there, I don't see it going in that direction.

Well that's fair I guess. The show did end like that for a reason for people who don't like either of the two options. As long as things don't become hostile/aggresive then everything is fine.

I can at least give credit to the creators in that this was a really ballsy move to do, mostly because I think it was meant as a big middle finger to Nickelodeon.

Oh yeah, I forgot all about that. I have to agree, her reconnecting to the other Avatars would have felt out of the blue anyway.

So, I finally got to watch the last season (pretty much blew through it in two nights). On the ending:

 

I loved the conflict with Kuuvira, but the reason I rushed so quickly to get through it all was the small explosion about Korrasami that happened when the finale aired. And, speaking as someone who was expecting to see it... I think it was definitely ambiguous enough that one could reasonably believe that they really are only friends. I say that as one who has no problem with homesexuality, and one who dislikes the Makorra pairing (and would thus enjoy seeing anything that weakens it). Yes, I read the article shared in this thread (that one of the creators shared), and I recognize that it seems like they're implying that Korrasami is a thing. But based on the show alone, I think it really is up to interpretation. As for what I saw in it, I too felt it was more of a friendship thing, due to the fact that I really never picked up on any romantic hints between the two before (aside from the one blushing scene). Though, for all the shippers who do see this as a romance, I've got nothing to say against it.

 

As for the rest of the ending, it definitely didn't feel like it resolved everything as well as ATLA did, but I didn't think it was bad. It wasn't so open ended that it felt entirely incomplete, and it does give the sense that these characters and their world will continue to live on outside of the stories we witnessed (which I think is a good quality for any story to have, unless the ending is the world ends/everyone dies).

 

Really, the only complaint that I really have was that it was so fricking obvious that Asami's dad was going to die. Seriously, I suspected something would go down when they reintroduced him, Asami forgiving him and Lin getting him out of prison set off all kinds of "REDEEMED, HE'S GOING TO DIE NOW" alarms in my head. It killed any emotional impact it would have had on me.

Just thought of something: Spirits just returned to the world.. Great time for a vacation, Korra, haha.

I'd say left to interpretation not confirmed. It's an open-ending. For me Makorra had the best moment "I'll always have your back" :')

You didn't to quote me I read it before and I'm literally crying...not because I don't like Korrasami. I don't even know why I'm crying...I guess this is me officially saying goodbye to Korra! Anybody got another show like that for me to watch! It was so good And about Korrasami, I'm still going to pretend like they are not romantically involved I just like it better like that but it's nice for the LGBT community Hahaha I wonder how Mako would have reacted to the news.

For real hahaha x) Doesn't matter Korra was still awesome. To me the ending still felt a bit, not out of place, but more like underwhelming. In ATLA, Kataang was the PERFECT way to end the series since Aang had been trying to get Katara since day one and it really felt like something had been accomplished. Their relationship was clearly fleshed out (by that I mean that EVERYONE knew they had romantic feelings for each other) and the best thing about it was that it didn't overshadow the rest of the show...In Korra well, the relationship was obviously not clear to everyone and it overshadowed everything. Every critic is saying Korra had the best finale ever just because of the last two minutes. In my opinion, the finale was SERIOUSLY underwhelming. So much more could've happened and it certainly didn't compare to ATLA. Ugh! I'm just really frustrated with this ending and with book 4 in general...I liked the other books better...anyway...I've got a lot of stuff to say but it's not going to lead anywhere so I'll just cry for the rest of the night and hope I find another show like ATLA and LOK someday

 

EDIT: Btw, am I the only one who felt like creating the spirit portal was useless? Unless they do Korra comics...But it just felt lazy. It was like they didn't know how to end the show so they just went "BOOM! SPIRIT PORTAL".
