the PS4 was announced yesterday and will be seen today in New York. but it will be released sometime by Christmas, and i don't know about you but I'm excited for it. it could be the system for KH4 and up. and I'm not sure but this could be the controller for it:

Aw man, so it really is the PS4.  Well, I guess I'm just stuck with another system soon to be retired *again*.

Well I was going to start saving money for a PS3, but now I guess I will wait for the PS4. Does anyone know if it will have backwards capability for PS3? Games that would be awesome! ^_^

I'm actually pretty disappointed.  I just bought my PS3 about three weeks ago, and now I'm wishing I'd waited to get the PS4 instead.

 

Ah well; I guess that's just the way life works sometimes.  I hope the games for it are good.

Sure we have new gimmicks and better graphics but the whole gaming experience hasn't changed very much since the previous generation (Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube etc). I'm quite disappointed. 

 

So now our controllers have screens in them, big firetrucking deal. It's rather sad that it's the only brand new thing Nintendo and Sony can think of.

 

I'm watching the stream right now and are they going to do something other than jerk off to the graphics? Seriously.

I'm surprised it's the Playstation 4. Sony boasted the Playstation 3 would be enough for another two or three years. I guess pressure from their fans and/or the threat of being left in the dust by Nintendo and Microsoft got to them. 

 

Looks like Microsoft decided to play the waiting game this time around. I have a feeling they are waiting for Sony to release specifications on the Playstation 4 so they can top it. The main selling point on the Playstation 3 was the Blu-ray and processing power. While the Xbox 360 ultimately sold more, the PS3 was still a major competitor.

Really? Even still most people don't use it as a gaming platform. I know ten people in real life that own a PS3, 7 of them only use it as a blu-ray player O_o.

 

Xbox LIVE is the largest online gaming community, even with the subscription fee. Regardless I'm impressed by the graphics of the Playstation 4 but disappointed that it's the only major innovation revealed thus far.

They're not going to show all their cards early in the game. We probably won't get any more spec info until E3. I'm sure that's why they are announcing this now to build up interest until the big convention.
