Should Kairi have been in DDD (KINDA A SPOILER!)

Posted

Right yous will just have to just hear me out on this one everybody but see because some people are saying on here it would be good to get a game only focusing on Kairi and her training to wield her keyblade and train to become one of the seven lights do you not think it would have been easier for that to happen in DDD ? That is if she even is one of the seven lights. Kinda make the game like BBS with 3 characters playable it would have saved Square time if they were actually going to make a game about Kairi? And I kinda always wondered why they didn't have Kairi on the raft in DDD since the three of them were planning on leaving the islands together. Nobody hate me or anything if this was a stupid idea

The game is about Sora and Riku and their mark of mastery exam.  Kairi wouldn't realistically have a place in the game, let alone as a playable character.  Also, keep in mind they only decided to train her after Xehanort's plan is revealed at the end of the game.  Until then, she wouldn't be able to do anything outside of where the plot has chained her since day 1: out of the way in the background.

Actually, it's an interesting idea that Square should consider for a new game. While I wish Kairi had been given more development and more fighting time in DDD, and not a small teaser at the end, you've kinda got my curious to seeing how such a game would play out. it's an interesting idea for a KH addition, and, if done correctly, could act like Mass Effect: Paragon Lost; give you a whole new respect for a certain character.

Sorta off topic, but while it could have been done in DDD, please remember; This was the Mark of Mastery for Sora and Riku. While they could have wrangelled Kairi into the end fight to save Sora, it just wasn't meant to be.

I'm sure she'll get some spotlight in KH3. They might put her as the prologue character like they did with Roxas in KH2. It would make sense with her training and everything.

It would have been more convinient to have her train in DDD to turn her into a fight-worthy character without needing a separate game (+ without feeling like she's just been thrown into KH3), but the game is meant to be about Sora and Riku with their MoM exam, and it wasn't decided until the very end (seems like Yen Sid just became aware at the end) that she could wield.

As said before the game is more about Riku.

Donot worry, Kairi will take the spotlight in KH3.

Plus if they did add her in DDD then after they did find out about MX (forgot how to spell you know who's name :P) she would be stronger and would only have to go through her mark of mastery exam she wouldn't have to go through training first, obviously she will still have to train up to the final fight but I'm just saying she'll be stronger than she is at the end of DDD.

She wouldn't have to be a main character like Sora and Riku like an option character you could be about to play in the game but I understand what you guys are saying

Honestly, Kairi definitely should have been in DDD more (she should be in the entire series more, actually). As this was the ten-year anniversary game, it's inexcusable how little she was in it. Granted, there was coding for her KHI model found in BbSFM (when it originally was going to have a KH3D demo in it), so maybe they were going to have her more (even playable, possibly), but couldn't because of time constraints?

Still, Square-Enix has really dropped the ball with Kairi, and I hope they get it right soon, but at this rate, I'm afraid they're going to just screw it up again. She has such potential and could be a great character, but honestly, I think some fans write her better than Nomura does.

And there were so many opportunities she could have been in 3D. Like, when Sora was falling into Darkness he could have said Kairi's name (in realizing he would never see her again and was breaking his promise, remembering how she'd saved him when he became a Heartless, etc.), and it would have been a great tie back to KHI! Or they could have had Riku go get her when things seemed the worst, and had her try to help Sora. If nothing else, they should have at least had Sora look at his lucky charm once, or maybe have had her there watching them take the MoM.

Seriously. I still get why she didn't go. DGM were there, and they didn't do anything. They were just there for moral support. And what happened to the "I'm sick of being left behind" girl? Why'd she let them go without her? This would have been a great time for her to see the worlds some, seeing as how they thought Xehanort was gone and stuff. -sigh- I just don't get it.

The only thing that makes sense is if they were trying to make the fact "she's a wielder and Light" shocking, but it just came off as stupid to me. We already knew she could use a Keyblade, and most of us had guessed she was one of the Seven Lights. And don't even get me started on the raft thing...

It would have just been so much better if she'd gone to the Tower earlier, and had begun her training that much sooner. And has no one learned not to leave Kairi alone after what happened with Axel? Jesus, people. So much for the "take care of her" crap and all that.

-sigh-

It would've been nice but it just didn't happen .

Hahaha. Thanks a lot! And glad you guys liked (and even agreed) with what I wrote. For more info on my thoughts about Kairi (if you're interested, of course), you can actually read an editorial I wrote about it all here http://www.khinsider.com/editorials/Kairi-The-True-Forgotten-Girl-in-Kingdom-Hearts-3275#comments. Thanks again:)

P.S. I'm a girl, but I know it's an easy mistake to makeXD

The MoM plot point got forgotten like 5 minutes into the game. They could've just not bothered with it to begin with.

Similar to how Riku's haircut is a Japanese custom to how it symbolizes a new beginning to that person, Kairi's small amount of screen time might have something similar. When in Japan, women like her have less freedom (I think) like not fighting in war or going to geisha houses. If a film adaptation of KH: DDD was made, would you give Kairi more screen time?

Has Weiss said " She will have a spot in KH3".

KH3 or not, Kairi will need a story for her keyblade training since the secret ending antecipated her, and the old Yen Sid said he had heard that she could use a keyblade, and much probably Kairi will be a guardian of the seven lights.

So yes, either they want it or not, they will have to "insert" some cutscenes or a spin-off. Oh, they can also had nonsenses into the games, not confusions like everybody tries to discover, complete nonsenses saying how she trained and vice-versa.

Also the main character for this was Riku defenetely.

( And the Dream Eaters )
