I just saw this video in Alpha Omega Sin's channel and it got me thinking,it's actually possible that a female incarnation of link could be made within the Zelda timeline,Yeah I know they said "Hero of Time" but it doesn't mean it can be only one gender,maybe in the next Zelda game we might get a female link or an option to change the gender before playing the game.

 

And before I get flamed by everyone here,I don't say that this is what the next Zelda is supposed to be.......oh wait now that I think about it

 

How about a Zelda game where you play as Zelda(NO,NOT THE GODDAMN CDi GAME)....but this time You start with a young warrior Zelda that later on becomes a princess at the end of the game

I think that would be a really good idea. The best Zelda games have always been the ones that do something new, either in design or content, and I think having a game with either Zelda or a female incarnation of Link would be neat. It would work within canon, anyway: it's not like there has only been one form of Link, after all.

Peach got her own spinoff in the Mario series, so why not Zelda? Plus the whole Sheik thing would be great - maybe they just haven't come up with a good story for her, and they'd rather have a good one than a bad one?But I really think they'll make one someday.

I'd rather play as Zelda,then having a female version of Link.She could a Knight and fight with a sword just like Link and she wouldn't be as girly as the other Zeldas,she could be serious like Lightning,Samus or whatever.

This. I think it would be fun to have reversal of roles. Start the game as Link, then he gets captured or what ever, and Zelda has to step up.

It'd be especially interesting since it appears in most games that Zelda's got some magical training too, and that could be worked into puzzles/combat pretty efficiently.
