I think you can still get it, just make sure your 3ds signals the SpotPass notification or just go to the Mii Plaza and check if any one new has arrived. I wasn't aware if it was for a one day only thing or not so it's worth checking

While people are talking about the 10 year anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, let us not forget that today is the 1st year anniversary of the Nintendo 3DS, this is a fun handheld to play and has so many fun games includeing Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, that came out in Japan yesterday and will hopefully get a overseas release date soon. Congrates N3DS

So I made the mistake of clicking "system transfer" thinking it would be like sending games 1 by 1. seems not.

 

well now 1 week later, my friend is gonna give me my data back. his 3DS also has the ambassador games on them. I was wondering: Do they transfer to mine as well? Or do they stay with him?

I don't think you can transfer them back, but if you really want them back, I'd message your friends and tell them you need to format your system. I'm no sure it'll work, so don't hold me to it, but that's all I can think of, since I know it gives you a new friend code and starts from scratch.

But if you want to try and have him send them back, be safe and have him copy his SD card data onto the computer, then deleting them off his system so he doesn't lose them.

I suggest you call them instead of emailing them.

Well when you transfered your games, did it send all of them? There's your answer. Like I said, have him back up his games and delete them off his system while you do the transfer

EVERYTHING on your friends's 3DS will transfer and their 3DS will be wiped clean. It will be like they are giving their 3DS to you. If they want to keep anything then they CAN'T. Except maybe what's on the memory card. If the ambassitor games are on there then they will just be trapped as memory on the old 3DS but will work in the one that the status was transfered into.
