I just dislike horror games

Why?

It honestly depends on the game. I really like Silent Hill and Fatal Frame, because they do a good job of building atmosphere without punching you in the face about how scary it is.

Games like Slender, on the other hand, feel like they're trying too hard to be scary, and just don't do anything for me at all.

It's just those games you listed don't spark my interest. I was going to buy ZombiU until I heard it was crap.

Why?

Never had fun playing them

I don't necessarily dislike Horror games, it's just that most of them are kind of bad at actually being scary. Most have few actual 'tense' moments, and really on jump scares to get the job done. Few, like Silent Hill 2, really get in your mind and actually provide sincerely tense and scary moments.

I enjoy Dead Space

I have no opinion, for I have never played one.

It's not a genre I favor.

I dont dislike them. Also, I'd rather have The Last of Us over Zombi U.

I like Amnesia, Penumbra, RE4, Scissor Man, and a few others...but not really that interested in the genre

Why do people dislike RPGs like KH? Why do people dislike puzzle games like Portal and Professor Layton?  Why can't more people understand how great of a FPS Call of Duty is?  We all have our own taste in entertainment and there is nothing wrong with people preferring platformers over horror or vice versa.  I don't see any point for people to justify why they don't like a certain genre.

Well I was only curious.

I don't like how most horror games are so brutal and morbid, thus I don't play them.

I like survival horror games, not as much as other genres like RPG and platforming, but I like it when the gore in the game is balanced instead of being over the top and disgusting like some horror movies I know

anyway.

I want to play Zombi U as soon as I get my Wii U,but I heard it's like:the "Dark Souls" of the survival horror genre.

And I don't like Darksouls that much in terms of ridiculously unbalanced difficulty(inb4 the rage of Dark Souls fanboys,This my opinion,it's not a fact)

I like classic Resident Evil games up to 4 and I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE RESIDENT EVIL 6 TO DEATH

I hate horror anything, movies/games/books/whatever. I do not enjoy being scared. To be honest, I'm fairly easy to frighten as well.

I like them. For a couple hours.

It just feels like "I've played this before"

Resident Evil did this to me especially.

Dead space was actually pretty unique. Then their were sequels.

I liked the idea better than the gameplay with Silent Hill.

I did like Left for Dead though... The multiplayer at least.

I do enjoy GOOD horror games. Something like Amnesia: The Dark Descent where you actually can feel the tension. Amazing dark atmosphere, fitting music and sound effects, minimum amount of jump scares (talking about actual storyline here, not custom stories) has really good story that is not overly complicated.

For games such as Dead Space, I had fun with first one, but not really in horror way, I just had fun shooting things. Most of these "OH MY GOD IT IS A ALIEN ZOMBIE" games where you are given so awesome guns and so much ammo that there is no change of dying which takes a lot of tension. And most of soundtrack is usually some weird noises with violin that is making my ears to bleed.

As for Resident Evil, haven't really found it ever so scary. Yes not even the classics, but still really fun games (excluding Raccoon City and 6)

not that i don't like them but i prefer jrpgs and art and those two things combined leave no time for anything else.

a guy who plays disgaea has no time for other things ;D
