ABSOLUTELY. From the trailers and demos, this is looking to be the best FF 13 game to date without a doubt. Hell, from what ive seen, it'' tie up with my fav FF games(FF VI and Crisis Core: FF VII).

 

I mean, look at the positives:

 

ACTION BASED RPG IN BATTLE LIKE Kingdom Hearts. You can dodge, block, attack in real time, and can switch Clothing to get different abilities, and can move around the battle. Not to mention, YOU CAN SLOW TIME AND SPEED UP YOURSELF. And the new Stagger system is cool too. And you can customize what COMMANDS YOU WANT ON WHAT BUTTONS.

 

More Action when not in battle. You can dash, grab onto ledges(Like in Assassin's creed), slide down slopes and more.

 

More Customization. You can change not only Lightning's equips, BUT HER CLOTHES TO MAKE THEM LOOK AWESOME, even CHANGING THE COLORS TO CUSTOMIZE IT EVEN MORE. Not to mention, each clothing has its own attributes and abilties specific to it. Plus more DLC costumes like Cloud's(And Yuna's, ive heard from many people that there are screenshots of Lightning wearing Yuna's FF X-1 costume).

 

THE STORY. Now, it all comes to an end. All the loose ends will be tied, and we'll finally see if the FF XIII world will get a break from all the shit that's been happening since FF XIII occured 1000 years earlier. And if Lightning and co. will finally get a happy ending, or have a horrible ending like XIII-2(PLEASE NO). The Whole entire Cast has finally been reunited in one place(Except for a certain sister....), even if not everyone is on the same side now, and the end of the world is drawing nearer and nearer.

 

MORE NON LINEARITY AND SIDE QUESTS. There have to be MANY MANY MANY SIDEQUESTS in this game, for the sole reason that, DOING SIDE QUESTS IS THE ONLY WAY TO LEVEL UP LIGHTNING. There's no EXP in this game, so doing those Side Quests extend the life of the world and how much time you have left, AND MAKE LIGHTNING STRONGER. Not to mention, THE WORLD IS FUDGING HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!! There's Luxerion, the Desert Dunes, and probably alot more. And even Toriyama said, YOU WILL NOT GET TO SEE ALL THE CUTSCENES IN ONE PLAYTHROUGH, SO YOU'RE EXPECTED TO PLAY IT MULTIPLE TIMES. That's obviously some non linearity and diversity in choices right there.

 

 

This game, is looking great, and each time we get more info, it looks BETTER AND BETTER. I will definitely scour the internet for playthroughs once it comes out in Japan in November.

I didn't know it was action based.  I usually don't play FF since turn-based drives me crazy.  I don't know how much I could get into this one, though, since I only played a tiny bit of XIII and never touched XIII-2

Well, if you dont like Turn based games, don't play the first 2 XIII games, it will drive you crazy. But the story for FF XIII IS AMAZING, AND SO DETAILED. Like any other FF game, but this one IMO is the first genuinely good FF game since X came out(XI and XII were shit for me, i didnt like them ).

 

But YOU NEED TO GET INTO THE STORY TO UNDERSTAND THE PLOT OF LR FF XIII BETTER. I recommend watching the "movies" for XIII and XIII-2 (its a compilation of all the scenes in the entire game for each of them, you can find them on Youtube, just type [insert video game here] the Movie.)

 

Trust me, you will like Lightning Returns when it comes out, here is gameplay of the Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII demos:

 

 

The first one shows off more of the gameplay and its variety of features, but watch both. It looks awesome.

 

If you end up liking the games, and have a PS3, you can import the game from Japan when it comes out in November 2013. Otherwise, you have to wait until February 2014 to get it in English. Since you cna understand Japanese Oishii, i recommend importing it if you can.

Fair enough. If its $60 dollars at retail when it launches(which it probably will be) i might wait. But if i end up having enough money saved up by then(which i might) i will buy it then and there. Im a huge FF XIII fan, i definitely want it as soon as possible. I wont import though, no sense in not being able to understand anything, it would ruin the game a bit. I'd rather watch Japanese playthroughs of it with English subs, until it releases in other countires out of Japan.

Yeah, same here. I know it will be for where i am though, since PS3/Xbox 360 games dont go any higher then $60 at launch in the U.S. I hope that in Austrailia it is also $60 at launch, so you guys can get it sooner too!

Yeah, or you could import, but unless you Japanese like Oishii, you probably shouldn't, since you wouldn't know what they're saying or what to do.
