The reality is, North Americans shouldn't complain. They get plenty of good stuff that Australians and Europeans don't get.

About two months between the NTSC and PAL release of KH. 

 

There was a SIX month wait between KH2 being released in NA and PAL regions. Yes, six months, half a year. What a firetrucking joke! And you North Americans complain about having to wait a couple of months for the English version of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII to be released.

 

The English version of Re:Chain of Memories was exclusive to North America. We never got it. We missed out on an actual game.

 

The Birth by Sleep PSP bundle. Only $200 for a limited edition BBS themed PSP 3000, copy of BBS & 4 GB memory stick. They expected Australians and Europeans to purchase them all separately and the limited edition PSP wasn't available. In total that cost Australians & Europeans an extra $100.

 

Not to mention all the pre-order bonuses they've had over the years such as the KH3D AR cards.

 

And now North Americans get a few PS3 themes from pre-ordering HD 1.5 ReMIX.

 

 

So North Americans, don't go crying to me about only the Japanese getting things.

But, everyone is unhappy with release stuff. Americans get more content, so they make Final Mixes. Americans complain about Final Mix, so we get bonuses. The rest of the world complains... It is a circle of unhappiness. However, you have to look at the supply and demand for KH in that region.

North Americans make up the largest portion of sales approximately 62.3%

Europe is second 20.4%

Japan is third 16.1%

Everyone else is last at 1.2%

 

Who do you think they are going to rake in the most money? They need to keep those fans, so they please them. 

But, you have to look at the proportions in regions. 

 

North American purchasers would vastly comprise of Canadians and Americans(USA), maybe Mexico. 

On top of that, the value of JNP yen has vastly decreased while the dollar is still worth more. Therefore if they sale more in NA, they will increase profit margins because the dollar would be worth much more in the whole Square Enix Inc. or whatever they are called. They will do whatever it takes to increase sales in North America. 

However, European area compromises a lot of area, and it making only 20% percent of sales is great. Square Enix pleases those people will provided them with the bare minimum (the game) so they would not lose profit. 

Japan has the highest ratios of concentrated sales approximately 1 million people have bought KH in Japan. Simplified fraction form 1/127

You can only import the games if you can play PS2 games from other regions which costs money. Who wants to pay $50 or $100 just so that they can import a game or two. The PSP Bundle couldn't be imported. 

 

My point is that North Americans shouldn't complain about what Japan has when they have stuff other countries don't.

While I agree with most of what you said I have to point out something. While KH had more content when getting a NA release (probably EU got that same extra content), while KH II mostly got censoring and no added content. But I don't know about what happened to the handhelds.

Honestly that line feels like you have a kid at a table that says "Dad, I am still hungry." The dad replies, "Child, there are starving children in Africa, you got some food don't complain." Yes, people whine and whine about FMs and what ever not coming to NA (which is soon getting rectified for PS3 owners), but saying one has no right to complain because EU is missing out on other things really does sound like that. If anything it gives EU more right to complain than NA, but it doesn't negate NA's right to complain. (Though if you were talking about people who complain about release dates, I take back all I said...)That being said, neither group can be really happy unless either everyone gets the same things, or we can learn to be content with what we have.

I just want to comment on this, yes the USD is worth more than the Yen, but games still cost more in Japan than the U.S.A.KH 1.5 costs $40 in the U.S.A., while it costs 6890 yen ($71.19) in Japan. And due to them having to pay money to localize it, their profit per game sold probably goes down even more. BUT a much greater quantity is sold in the NA region, simply because there are more people there than in Japan. (which can make it worth while) That being said I believe most EU countries pay more for new games than the U.S.A. and I can't remember if Canada does or not. (I know Canada is in the NA region)

Actually I just order the Japanese versions of games like the final mixes, patch them into english, and then play them... then I have the same thing as the Japanese, and therefore I still feel like I'm getting the upper hand....
