This is just my opinion, and probably not a popular one... but I don't see Lea becoming a Guardian of Light, and especially over Kairi.

 

We've already seen that she will possibly be a light thanks to the secret ending in Dream Drop Distance, and as far as we know, Yen Sid is going to train her to become a good enough Keyblade wielder to be a Light. I mean, Lea is cool and all, but he literally just got his Keyblade (which doesn't even have a canon name yet) at the end of DDD, and Kairi got hers in KH2. People have been gunning for her to be more useful since she got that thing, and this is her chance.

 

Again, my boy Lea is great, but he needs to respect his better (not fighting wise, but story wise). Kairi's been around since the first game and her status as the Princess Peach of KH can end any day now. Lea still deserves to be a part of KH3, all the way. Just not a Light. 

 

And as for Terra, well, that should be obvious. He's still butting hearts with Master Xehanort inside Terra-nort's body. If anything, I figured he'd be the last person to be "saved" by Sora, in the end of the game. I don't see how people think that he's going to die in probably the first few hours of KH3's story and then we get Terra back. It just seems unrealistic.

 

Anyways, like I said, this is all opinion. I'm not Nomura, so anything of this might not even be taken with a grain of salt. Either way, feel free to leave your opinion about this matter.

Fool. Lea has helped the good side more in his little rescue in 3D's than Kairi has in all of the games.

I think that both might be, with Lea taking Terra's spot. Due to Terra currently being stuck in a suit of armor in the Keyblade Graveyard, and his body being in possesion of Orochimaru Xehanort, it won't be easy to get him before the lights take him on.

Kairi is already a light in the regard of being one of the other 7 lights (POH). I am not sure Nomura would double her, I would think it would be Lea and possibly Kairi until Terra returns, but also I am not sure if Nomura would officially double Terra as a light and dark.  there are just too many unanswered questions and too many loose ends for any one answer to be more right.

Terra is not stuck in his armour, though... That is his Lingering Will, which is not the same thing as his heart, apparently...

I'm not implying that he shouldn't fight. Just because he doesn't become a Guardian doesn't mean that he can't help by fighting some Heartless or what have you.

Kairi only got kidnapped once (She did NOT get kidnapped in kh1, riku found her and her heart was in sora)  and managed to escape. Sora also got kidnapped once, as did xion. Calling her peach is a little stupid. Especially stupid since princess peach was kidnapped 16 times and can't fight.

Theres actually a HUGE difference between them.

 

Anyway, i think both kairi and lea should be lights, they have so much potential and they don't have anyone else because terra will probably be on the thirteen darknesses side (Nomura said the opening of 3d isn't canon to who the lights will be so you can't go off that).

Twist ending: Xehanort is actually a light. How might this be possible you might ask? I say time travel. Why time travel? Well that's how Nomura made everything else "work" didn't he?

no seriously, why should there be 7 guardian of lights? That's what Xehanort wants. For Sora's side, more people to fight the better isn't it?

 

And I suppose if light side increase in number, I think Xehanort would randomly "pick" 7 people out of there and make'em clash to have his objective complete. Whoever Xehanort chooses really depends on the situation and whoever Xehanort wants.

So we got Sora, Riku, Mickey, Kairi, Aqua, Ventus, Terra, Lea. And the people who need to be saved are Namine, Roxas, Ventus, Aqua, Terra, Xion. My hopes are that they manage to rescue all but Terra(nort) and there are 7 Guardians and then a whole ton of Keyblade weilders just kick ass on a massive battlefield against all the Xehanorts!

 

Also: Sora, Riku, Mickey, Kairi, Aqua, Ventus, Terra, Lea, Namine, Roxas, Xion, Donald and Goofy = 13 warriors. COINCIDENCE! Probably!

I really don't think kairi will be a guardian of light. I mean when it comes down to the final battle between them and xehanort Would it be logical to put one of the princesses in the battle? If kairi was to be hurt or killed all of the world's would be at stake to the darkness and no one in Sora and Co. Would take that risk

I'M just thinking that kairi getting a keyblade is just to be able to defend herself if darkness or xehanort try to injure her or kidnap her to get an advantage. Maybe kairi will help in the final battle, but only behind the lines.

I know that!!! What I meant was, I don't think Yen Sid and Mickey would ONLY have 7 guardian of lights fight against Xehanort when they know that's what Xehanort wants. I think a lot more people will fight in this, which can possibly ruin Xehanort's plan about 7 lights crashing 13 darkness

Everyone says that Kairi & Lea shouldn't be a light, because they just got their keyblades. Well as far as we know Xigbar & Saix don't even have their keyblades yet. The whole reason Braig let Xehanort possess him was so he could get a keyblade. By that logic, they are not worthy to be a darkness.
