Hey there everybody, how's it going?  You know, I've been thinking a lot about Kingdom Hearts 3 and how awesome it's going to be, and I've kept noticing throughout these months that a lot of people don't like the Osaka Team, and that they fear that they won't do KH3 justice. I just want to express my personal opinion on this.

 

Okay, so as we all know, the Osaka Team is responsible for the handheld entries in the Kingdom Hearts series, and they've never worked on a console KH game.  While I realize this, we shouldn't be despairing because of this.  In my opinion, I think they developed the handheld games pretty good, and since Nomura said that KH3 had begun development since 2010, maybe the Osaka team has been honing their craft for making an incredible console KH experience.  With their experience in the KH series, I imagine that it'll be awesome.  And also, Nomura said that the original KH team was working on Final Fantasy XV.  Maybe once the game is finished completely, the original KH team will work with the Osaka team and they'll make KH3 even more incredible than ever imagined!

 

So yeah, I say that we should give the Osaka Team a chance to let them shine.  They may haven't worked on a console KH game, but hey, with the 3 years of development KH3 has had, Osaka has had the opportunity to adapt and hone their skills.  So I have faith in them, and I have faith that Nomura will make the right decisions concerning the distribution of the teams. Thoughts, anyone? ^_^

I don't mind that the Osaka team is doing.  My favourite KH game to replay over and over and over again is BBS.  

 

Simply put, people don't like change, a lot of people didn't even bother picking up or looking at the handheld games because they only wanted it on the PS2 (or whatever console they happened to own), so they boycotted it and playing only KH1 (sometimes), KH2 (most likely) and occasionally from starting with KH1 way back when, Com (Gameboy version), and then they dropped the series and developed a hatred for any handheld game that came out, and since they were made by the Osaka team, people like before have thrown a hissy fit finding out their beloved KH3 they waited so long for is being developed by the team who keeps making games on handhelds they don't want or have.  

I am sure everyone knows after FFXV the main team will fully contribute to KH3 lol.

They did help with 1.5 ReMix I think and they are most likely gonna work on 2.5 so yeah and hey I like the handheld games so yeah I'm looking forward to both games can't wait to play them.

I thought they did a great job w/ BBS and DDD. I just prefered the numbered titles (esp. the final mix versions). Between combat abilities, like ripple drive and magnet splash (finisher exclusive to KH2FM), among other things, I just preferred the other team's work.

Osaka team already proved 2 times they can make awesome KH games : BBS and 3D.and

I am sure everyone knows after FFXV the main team will fully contribute to KH3 lol.

-Enemies flinch

-In their games there's no bullshit like command leveling or petting dream eater that make replaying the game a chore.

-The Tokyo team's boss design is just better. Ask anyone. 

-The games the Osaka team make are more watch and wait(seriously commands are like reaction commands and people keep bitching they make Kingdom Hearts 2 easy) than finding the most useful strategy to defeat an enemy.

 

In the games developed by the Osaka team:

 

-Enemies and bosses don't flinch

-Replaying the games is just a chore (Especially DDD)

-No keyblade combos

-No magic combos

-No fluidity between game mechanics

-Boss design sucks compared to the tokyo team's

 

The Osaka team proved that they can make good handheld games, they didn't prove that the can make good console games. Handheld games are completely different from console games. The reason people complain about the Osaka team developing kh3 is not because they made the handheld games and people hate them. It's because Versus XIII was supposed to be what the gameplay of kh3 would look like and now Nomura said the the gameplay would be similar to KH3D's, which honestly is just BBS with flowmotion. BBS 2.0 if you will.

Gonna be honest: I'm not wild about the Osaka team being involved. The two games that they've put their hands to have been my least favorite in the series. Granted, I don't want to blame them and them alone (since I understand most of my story complaints are derived from Nomura), but thing like the gameplay, combat, and world exploration just really haven't done anything for me in either BBS or DDD.  

 

The sooner the original team gets back on task, the better.

I'll be playing 3D for the first time tomorrow, when I get my Pokemon 3ds. So I will post my impressions then... I feel like Nomura's direction is the most important element, as it is his child and would guarantee that the game has a quality story and gameplay.

Nomura designs gameplay mechanics that tie to the story like Flowmotion and Drive Forms. The team give ideas for what the gameplay can be like and Nomura approves or refuses.

 

Funny story about Flowmotion is that when Nomura presented it the the team that made 3D, they really didn't like it. I read it in KH3D Ultimania.

In dream drop distance the enemies and the bosses clearly flinch. Get your facts right. I'm not sure about. BBS since I don't own the game. And I'm not that sure how you could call DDD's and BBS gameplay having 'no fluidity'. With the dream eater petting thing as well as command leveling, those are 2features that u don't even need to pay attention to if you play the game as it is you'll do fine without giving any concentration to it. Unless you're a completionist, there is no real reason to be frustrated at the two. Besides, the Osaka team added those features, especially the dream eater petting, to enhance involvement in the mechanics of the game. If you don't want to dedicate your time to do that, you can ignore that and just install your favorite command set using it over and over again and you're good to goObviously the Tokyo team is better than Osaka but you have to admit that they're good enough. Besides, Tokyo is joining the effort soon enough and will fix whatever the Osaka team managed so screw up.

Well Nomura (lol my phone autocorrects that name to Monica) said the gameplay will be a mix of all titles so as long as they implement what the Tokyo games did like KHII's great aerial combat and KH1s bonus tech points so there's more incentive to use magic then we are good to go gameplay wise.

 

Story wise: we get so see the new organization, the final battle, the return of TAV, the Princesses of Heart becoming very important again and Kairi kicking ass! It'll be hard to screw that up.

 

Tl;dr KHIII will be awesome.

When I say no fluidity I mean that I can't chain any attack together to maximize the damage. In KH2 I can use two spells and finish with a physical finisher, all that as part of a combo. In 3D, Flowmotion is supposed to be fluid but if you're not near a wall or a pole it's completely useless. In the games using the command deck using a command means you go into a long animation in which you can't move. In the games made the Tokyo team , you are always in control of the character. No matter what he does you're sure that you can escape every attacks.

With the dream eater petting thing as well as command leveling, those are 2features that u don't even need to pay attention to if you play the game as it is you'll do fine without giving any concentration to it. Unless you're a completionist, there is no real reason to be frustrated at the two. Besides, the Osaka team added those features, especially the dream eater petting, to enhance involvement in the mechanics of the game.
